My female friend signed up for the SAF scheme (her family background wasnt doing good so she needs the money) and she's going for the ns most likely this year.
The good news is she's quite pretty. Oh no i begin to worry for her when she went in..

i hear from my friends there is one female doing bmt right now with the guy recruits. only girl in the school. very awkward for her and the guys i think.

Only super ugly girls will sign on with SAF, esp army. They get the ugliest girls. and talk abt incompetent.
Must be really desperate for $ to sign on with armed forces if you are a girl. Or that it's the only way you dream u can find a man.

If so, then she will be set for a sorry disappointment. SAFOS scholars do not generally go for female army officers. In fact the ones I spoke to on this topic unanimously say they think females in the army are highly undesirable and not to be considered. Most marry private sector ladies, not even frequently their civil service OMS counterparts. The CDF's wife was a full time ballet dancer, if I'm told correctly. :) SAFOS scholars are known in JC to have beautiful girlfriends and eventually wives, if you know em' you'll know what i mean.
I only know one SAFOS who hooked up with an army officer and other SAFOS say his partner is really unattractive and yikes!!!!!!!!

frankly speaking, i have known female regulars in the SAF to regret their decison of joining the army. i would strongly advise that she know exactly how the army life is like before signing on, its not like the advertisment in the TV.
i feel that SPF would be a better choice for the female.
