Just passed out from Signallers' course (Infosys) after 9 long weeks, recieved my posting order today - got posted to 8 Signal Battalion...
Would like some insights/advices from lao jiaos here
.. I'm a C9L9 btw.. -
Got this signal bn meh? Where is the camp?

8 sig is a 24/7 standby unit, I heard.. lotsa exercises, lotsa weekends burn.. jialek bo? -
not really, 8 sig is a good place to be, quite slack and can play soccer n bball...not to mention 2 nights off/week...the only xiong sig bn is 3 sig as the BSO quite garang..
well at least u nv post out good liao wad...but of cos u gonna makan stagmont food for the rest of ur 2 yrs..

Wah biang.. one thing that irks me is that my C9L2 friends happily made their way through to become some technician, clerk or storeman or whatever stay out vocation. And being a L9, I'm posted to some stay in unit, drawing some combat pay.

You were unfair.The case is they didn't follow medical directive in the first place; and there is no way I could seek redress as I'm just a li'l puny, defenseless private
Edit: Did I mention that we were advised not to lodge any complaints to any individual or organization outside SAF?
And the chain of command? I guess this is why God gave us 2 ears - to listen and 2 thumbs - to suck on -

imagine those pes e clerks who stay in at tekong then. dun complain so much la, learn as much as u can inside and make the best out of a bad situation.

interesting. were u PES C9L9 when you got posted to Infosys Operator COurse?
I'd always tot that the course was meant for PES C2L2 and above.
In any case as said before, 8 Sig Bn is a 24/7 ops ready Bn, and does not support any specific infantry/guards/armour Bn.
I believe her operations are still classified, so telling them online will have me charged haha...and nope, don't wanna drink tea with MSD.
Life should be quite siong in my opinion, since it's a new Bn and trying out (read: test mice) for the army's new initatives. The upside is 8 Sig Bn resides in Stagmont Camp, which is pretty near Lot 1! haha....

Yes, I was C9L9 the day I went to CMPB for the medical checkup. Like you, I always thought that infosys operator course is only for C2L2 and above. Apparently, they're testing the water this batch and the L9s became their guinea pigs.
Classified? Yes, a need to know basis... So knowing them can already get you charged
Heard we will be expecting a lot of weekends to be burnt... What a lovely start...
