Yes. You are allowed. But take note. you may want to think carefully about this. The army makes a person duller and stupider. So when you become a university graduate, and then you serve your army, you run the risks of forgetting every damn thing you knew in your uni and in effect become a dumb boy.Originally posted by JennTS:I know that if you go to the Junior College or Polytechnic, you have to serve NS before you're allowed to further your studies. My question is, if you were to jump straight to University (overseas) right after Secondary School, are you still allowed to defer, then serve upon completion of your tertiary education?
Thanks.
you wanna pay 75 k?Originally posted by JennTS:Alright, thanks a lot. =)
PS: I don't plan on serving NS. (and no, I'm not intending to run away from Singapore either)
no kidding.....Originally posted by JennTS:Sex-reassignment surgery. I'm transsexual.
if i'm not wrong my mom told me that i could pay 75k to skip ns or something.....Originally posted by JennTS:What was that about paying 75k though?

i think if their parents can afford, they wouldn't unless their son can earn more than that in 2 years.....Originally posted by SMRT Buses:heard that too but unless you're filthy rich
you gonna go for surgery before or after uni?Originally posted by JennTS:Sex-reassignment surgery. I'm transsexual.
in pre-enlistment phase...they already sent me letter to go medical checkup all...Originally posted by SMRT Buses:so Deino i guess u haven't enlisted yet
All it matters is that I get it before NS. (still, it'd be nice if I could get it now )Originally posted by Deino:you gonna go for surgery before or after uni?
i also wonder why 75 k...why they never put like 88k or something....Originally posted by MidnightK:pay 75k and you are void of NS?
serious?!
oh well, good luck......Originally posted by JennTS:All it matters is that I get it before NS. (still, it'd be nice if I could get it now )
I'm probably going to have to go around asking my relatives to lend me money. It's definately more worth it for me to spend those 2 years working of my debt though, than to waste 2 years as a damn clerk and getting taunted and made fun off by everybody in the army. The worst part would be how I wouldn't get the pay boost that guys get, due to the fact that they have to serve NS.
Haaa, thanks. Yea, I got my letter a few weeks back, but it told me that I have to wait for next month before applying for deferment.Originally posted by Deino:oh well, good luck......
but then after surgery need change IC all right?
You already got letter from ns?
