Record SOC and 2.4Km timing

  What are the record timings for SOC and 2.4km run in history of SAF?

  I just know someone in my company did just below 8 minutes for SOC, and about the same timing for 2.4km
  
  The record for SOC, I think, is held by a commando who is now a commando officer, and is someone who is working at BMT now. Timing I think was 7 mins...

  best timing for soc i ever heard. timed at soc ground of bmtc 2, 5.55.

  When I was doing my BMT in 7BTS, my instructor once told our platoon that the CO then, LTC Lee Chong Kiat, a red beret, holds the SOC record for running a 5 mins ++ timing ... but i guess the record was broken by a PTI.

  No record for 2.4 km exact coz no athletic competition got that item, but:
  
  2000 m 4:44.79 Hicham El Guerrouj (MAR)
  3000 m 7:20.67 Daniel Komen (KEN)
  
  So if we extrapolate, then technically a world-class athlete should be able to run 2.4 km in 5:44 or somewhere there.

  huh? never heard of any pti that did 5 mins.

  i have heard record times before...
  
  because PTI pressed the stopwatch earlier than he should.

  My own record is :
  
  SOC : 7.47
  2.4k : 8.48
  
  But that was a long long time ago when the webbing was the canvas type and the water bottles slap your butt every step you run. Also, for 2.4km, we ran with kungfu shoes.

  my camp..
  i know 1 guy from sp...running 2.4 at 7.30..(he national runner tho)
  then a guy from my company did his soc at 7.45(with rife n full water bottle only

  yup had to pass it my oc said tat last time got 1 guy SOC hit 5.45

  sort of.They will still let U ORD even if U cannot pass SOC/IPPT...but while U are still in service...they can get U to come back for additional training...book out later than others...book in earlier than others...it basically sucks...so if U dun have any problems except unfit-ness...I suggest U make the effort to clear it.

  my 2.4 is 8.46... SOC cannot remember lor.... but now.... i cant even complete 2.4 in 20min lor
