Combat Medic Specialist II Course - 14 weeks
A course conducted for BSLC (Basic Section Leader Course) graduates from SISPEC (School of Infantry Specialists) who are selected to be Combat Medic Specialists. Trainees will undergo Level I and Level II Paramedic training to equip them with the knowledge and skills to assist the Senior Medic in managing the BCS (Battalion Casualty Station) and the medical centre. Graduates will be able to assess patients in an organised and prioritized manner. They will also possess greater proficiency in assessment and treatment and be able to perform selected treatment and protocols. -
was in the 1st batch of Modified spec 2(Alpha)...damn siong cos of a particular sailor
3 weeks learn basic medic course
9 weeks paramedic phase(learn casualty management...ambulance procedure...A&E and Ambulance attachment)..
2 weeks combat phase(BCS...BCS..BCS..BCS...and final exercise...)..finished with a 1 week medical centre attachment
then off to become coy medic in a SIR
dont underestimate the siongness of the medic..whether BCS medic..platoon medic...medic spec and even a service medic -

I took it almost five years ago.
At that time, it was six weeks of Paramedic Level II, and two weeks of Combat Medic Spec II.
I must say that the Paramedic phase was very interesting.... you spend a week doing attachments at a fire station (2 days) and the ER of a hospital (3 days). -
it's probably the only vocation in the army which can be used in real life...

1. Good canteen. Heheh.
2. Encik Anuar. I wonder if he's still there.
3. You'll have to do quite a bit of studying during admin time. Really.

The cookhouse really sucks, when compared to Pasir Labar Camp. And there are so many books to study!!! -

As for the books, well.... can't be helped. I remember having to buy an A5 sized notebook for the lectures. The paramedic phase was extremely study-intensive..... but I remember the medic spec phase was much easier. Then again, they might have changed the format.... I took the course five years ago, after all.
Whatever the case, be prepared to do lotsa studying. I won't say that the course is idiot-proof, but with a decent level of effort, you should be able to pass the tests.
