  i received a letter saying i will be posted to holding list managed by NSPC ... can some one tell me wat this means ... n does it mean tat i wont get a callup for my reservist .. Thanks

  Correct n no need to go back for reservist until they found a unit for u.
  What is ur vocation n PES status?

  but will it happen tat they keep u on holding list forever as in until u reach teh age of 40?

  only 0.1% chance u will be on the ''forgotten soldier'' list...
  
  its just that u r temporary not slot in a reservist unit yet... it might take a year or two to find a vacancy slot for u... since u r an rp for nsf... most likely u just kena a rifleman infantry vocation as in a typical infantry reservist unit.

  Apparently there are different holding lists. The main differentiation, if true, being the MINDEF "inactive" one (for the retired & the downgraded -- both no more under SAF strength, mah), the combat "standby" ones (all the combat DIVs & formations have their own holding lists), the TRADOC "paper" one (for those non-ops ready but arrowed) & the NSPC "limbo" one (for NSF disruptees or NSmen working/studying overseas).
  
  Did I guess correctly in your case? ~lol~ If so, the good news is your aptitude may be too obsolete or lapsed when available for call-up again; the bad news being you may still be posted nonetheless, starting anew in, say, your 30s with a newly-ORD unit when your peers are winding down their cycle. Better cross your fingers ....
  
  I also believe the SAF can switch the lobo reservists between the lists anytime, without necessarily informing them.

  RP... most probably you would be in infantry... but dun worry till they manage to find a unit for you... My friend had not been call up for 3 years liao...

  Chances us rare but if u got selected to be a driver, u will likely be called back for driver course to get ur military licence.

  They must have a course to give all drivers a thorough briefing
