Hmm.. I not from NPCC so I can't comment much..
NCC doesn't teach you much about NS. Basically, what you learn in there can be covered in a pretty short time in NS. You're just spending time learning basic stuff for 4 years, unless you go for higher-up courses like Advance Drill Course or Cadet LT Course. But even our higher-up courses are nothing compared to the real thing.
NCC is good for building bonds, and for good memories. Sign up for all the course you can get, especially if you're from the Air Unit.
BAC = basic assault course?Originally posted by sir sickolot II:perhaps one good thing about NCC is that you can take the BAC.
which would need you to meet a level of fitness (which would prove useful in NS - provided you maintain!), an experience that you can use as an edge in NS (unless you join the CDOs)
where does NCC conduct it's outfield? In school? In Amoy Quee Camp?
Our outfields are not conducted locally, thats for my school. We did that over in Malaysia's forest. Or a short one in Ubin which shouldn't be really considered as an outfield at all... but what we do is stupid la... our IFC are just the crawls etc... camouflaging by tying the leaves and things onto our bodies with rubber bands...Originally posted by sir sickolot II:basic airborne couse
i was attached to NCC for a short stint in NS, and I noticed they stayed in bunks for Spec Cse. that was in 06. Looks like there's no 'outfield'.
the airborne course for ncc is farking difficult to get in i heard.Originally posted by VagueHart:Our outfields are not conducted locally, thats for my school. We did that over in Malaysia's forest.
