Tekong specs, by and large are arrogant and presumptious people.Originally posted by Rockhound:wait till tekong specs meet unit specs when we come over for training...lol...all cower...

i see 3sgts as a "brother" to his men
someone who to 'look after' especially safety...
Men look for "brothers" who can chiong with them, do things together
they hate the BMT instructors' mentality
well, i address my men as my platoonmates, teammates...
ultimately, we are going to spend at least 10 years together

having stripes dont make u king
u need to gain the respect of your men first
passing a stupid course dont give u the right to rule other people...
the onli ones grinning were the ones going tekong
the rest who went to SIRS and GDS held the facial expression grim...
being med spec lagi worse
earning ure stripes... u have the responsibility of choosing who lives and die in the field...choose wisely...
It was more meant as a passing joke as we were talking about BMT life, the type of specs we got and how it would feel to be like them but it was just a thought.Originally posted by LazerLordz:I actually told two of them off, when they tried to abuse their rank. Told them it sickens me to no end when people did that for no reason except to feel shiok.
Lifting your head high is not about your rank, it's about how well you work with your guys and if you treat them well, they will work well with you. That's what matters.
Rank? The rank is there for you to protect your men, for you to accept responsibility.
Haha yea, I know.Originally posted by dkcx:It was more meant as a passing joke as we were talking about BMT life, the type of specs we got and how it would feel to be like them but it was just a thought.
As you do well know in our side, man or spec there is no difference as everyone call each other by names and not ranks even though the new intakes no longer get their spec like we do.
You should have been in my unit.Originally posted by stellazio:so its the 3sg in tekong that are being bastard.
thankfully its not as bad as PA, where corporals are called SIR. heck everyone is called a SIR there.Originally posted by LazerLordz:You should have been in my unit.
Guard Comd collect rations instead of guards.
Head to Macs and you'll be called Sir too.Originally posted by stellazio:thankfully its not as bad as PA, where corporals are called SIR. heck everyone is called a SIR there.
Hi.I'm curious about life as a 3 sgt in units eg. arty or armour. am currently in sispec, so trying to find out. =)"Operational life" says it all, lah. Speaking for Arty, if things haven't changed: you'll join the surviving mono-intakers for their trade course &, once everyone else is posted in too, the unit shall train together progessively (i.e BTY EXs, then BN Exs) to pass the FATEP test & obtain REDCON status. After that, the unit becomes operational for standbys & mob mannings, etc. Cyclically, this is done twice in active time (& every ICT during reservist).
Good morning SirOriginally posted by LazerLordz:Head to Macs and you'll be called Sir too.
