Only SAFOS scholars can become BG.

I'd urge you to take back this statement. Attainment of Rank is by appointment.
In the AF orbat, the estab rank for the 5 partici[pation commands are BG. In addtion, COS ASholds an estab of BG as well.
Philip got his LTC a bit late. at 40, he'd just competed his OC tour. If I am not wrong his LTC is to recognise him as a spec pilot. At this rate, I would expect him to see out gis contract with a last staff appointment

Oh i never made myself clear enough. It is not on paper like a rule. I meant in terms of capabilities. i'm not taking back anything, it's my view. Anyway, why should you be so worked up unless you have a vested interest?
However it must be said it is easier to get a star in the air force i heard people say, due to the no. of generals in it vs the no. of people in the whole force, higher chance per person. So maybe you will have a chance afterall lah!
this is out of topic but he is quite fat!
I do not need you to retract anything but perhaps you must learnt to qualify something you have posted in a public board. I can count BG Wong Huat Sern, BG Voon Tse Chow and BG Charles Sih who were not scholars but got their one Star during their Base Comd tour (was BG Wong's 2nd). Hence, rank attainment is based on appointment. BG is an ROA for SAFOS scholars but not an exclusive entity.
On the contrary, it is harder attaining your star due to the size of the service. ADA will have a one star... majority of your stars will come from fixed wing. It is less easy for a rotary wing or transport pilot to get his star, And I am talking on the tip of the iceberg. How about that??
I already said that you will have a chance afterall what! you should be placated liao. See, you already can count 3 who were not SAFOS but got their star. you also got chance lah! ok?
Everyone knows that attainment of rank is by appointment. That is in actual sense how it is done. I have not encountered any farmer that ever impressed me, so i was referring to capabilities. Anyway I have already acceded to what you wanted to hear so you should be very happy now what.
it may be harder for certain what have you pilots to get his star, but overall there is a higher chance per person in RSAF to make general when you divide no. of people by 5.
Another big point: Plus far far far fewer SAFOS in RSAF than Army. Every year either got none or 1 or very most 2. In Army every year at least got 5-8 SAFOS. So of cos there is a higher chance (higher than in Army and RSN but I won't say its high) for you in RSAF lah.
