Why nowadays , so many advertisement on navy?

there are advertiement on the train , on the tv and other place , why are they so in need of people? i go their website see , do until so nice , i also feel like signing on for one of their vocation le. Haiz they advertise till so hiong because all the regulars quit after their contract is it?

for mindef, its always most of the time where the demand (regular intake requirement) exceeds the supply (manpower).
when the ecomomy is rising and improving, no one is willingly want to sign on one..... its only when another finanical crisis... retrenchment there and here will one starts to think of the defence recruitment...

The Navy usually finds it hard to retain people because of the long deployments, especially if assigned to LSTs and possibly the new frigates, and crazy schedules. It is also unable to make as much use of NSF as the Army due to the greater amount of technical training required. It doesn't have as much prestige as the Air Force (IMO). All these add up to give the Navy a hard time

need people to fill up the new vessel. It takes time to train so start recruitment drive now.

i think shatec holders can easily get into navy chef vocation , lol last time i nearly went to shatec , but in the end i still go do sports management. more brighter future , sports is becoming bigger in singapore.

I mean, they are desparate enough to send NSFs to their frigates?
My advice to you is, DO NOT sign-on unless you are prepared to multi-task under mental stress, and can tolerate sea-state. -
worst come to worst they re-assign army and RSAF regulars to navy loh.

Your whining is making me feel sick and ashamed when i know we're bothSeaman but of a different voc and platform. Im WCS and LST trained.
If u think i`ve stepped on ur tail by being so straightforward then let me tell u, there are some things u dont know but i know. As i`ve been in both the Ops and Admin side of things. 191 Sqn and HQ RSN respectively.
PS: I aint ruling out the possibility there are things u know and i dont know too yeah? So.. PEACE OUT!

I'm not whining. It's a fact. And it's something all of us at 185 agree.
Moreover, multi-tasking is hardly desirable. Knowing how to man another additional system is different from being expected to man another system. It's been proven time and again to reduce a force's effectiveness.
But what to do? Such are circumstances. -
