have u guys ever slept on the floor of a tonner?

  long journey, so u lie down on the floor of a 3 or 5 tonner to sleep.
  
  anyone done that before?
  
  is it allowed?
  
  or perhaps in outfield, maybe u was the driver or maybe u chao keng, u go n sleep on the bench on the tonner.

  Pretty often, especially after a siong outfield.
  
  But of course, that would depend on whether there's enough space on the tonner.... otherwise, I sleep in a sitting position.

  there are many over the years... what a stupid dumb dumb question...

  during an overseas ict ex, a tonner is converted to a "safety umpire" bunk in the outfield... so u tell us it is allowed or not...

  chao keng or not... we all r human... all will get tired and exhausted... when that happen... anywhere oso can sleep... and i will gladly command u to sleep behind the tonner wheel's acting as a real human wheel choke!

  in moving vehicle, not allowed and also not advisable.
  
  yah, seen all kinds of sleeping position on the tonner before but I usually sleep in the head compartment during field trip cos lesser mosquitoes.

  I even slept on top of the pile of concertina wire(of course wrapped with sandbag) on the way back to Pasir Laba in a 3-tonner when I was the store party after the nutcracker exercise during ISL course.

  Eh, why not? Where you think people take shelter from the rain? ~lol~ I'd trained with M113s during active time so I dunno for unit life. But in reservist, drivers & the men were allowed to retire there at the end of each day. During ROC, there's not much to do but koon during the day-long BN convoy journey down south either. Back at base camp, some crazy buggers even ventured to sleep inside them (instead of the cramped bunks) before fleeing after a while.
  
  Why? Cuz the tonner floor is always dirty ~lol~ Mud was relatively tolerable; you can throw a poncho over it before settling down. But soil/earth attracts mosquitos, crawlies & -- eternally -- sand flies, & no one can tahan being cooped up & subjected to such commando attacks! Everywhere else (underneath the tonner, inside the tentage, in the open, nearby training shed) is a better fate.

  was it static line parachuting? can't be right... imagine you have approx 15 -20 secs for a 1000 feet descend... sleep means KO liao

  Few seconds. 2s maybe? I was just so tired at that time the brain auto sleep (micro sleep). anyway static line parachute chute already deployed, chamce of being killed reduced greatly. worry is obstacles (none) and landing.
