actually standing at the edge of the ramp and jumping off would get u to avoid the wire.......just dont think so much abt it...jacob's ladder is more freaky

i cant clear low rope...even without SBO. just cant do it zzz haiz. and my chin up not say 0 fighter. just dont understand why i cant do low rope and low ramp.

Low rope: not so much to do with strength. More to do with technique.... more specifically, the way you hook the rope around your legs.
Low ramp: nothing to do with strength. Very little technique as well.... just jump off horizontally and land properly. It's all about confidence. -

Low rope can juggle between strength & technique, unlike the ROC version which must demonstrate arm power all the way.
To "cheat" more with technique, crunch "fetally" as much as possible whenever lifting your lower body upwards. Then knot the rope quickly with your foot, to minimize the strain on your stomach muscles. Straighten your body immediately, before repeating the whole process again.
The regular sit-ups in PT lessons can already improve your endurance here, so no "need" for extra push-ups "help". Just master the technique & try to hit the top with the minimum knots (3?) decisively every time. Any extra knot will only lengthen your timing & tire you unnecessarily. -

Think about this....when u jump....ur feet must get as high as possible, to lock the rope, such that when you can rest on the rope and stand up straight, grab higher.
As you grab higher....now hold the rope with ur hands and swing ur feet as high as possible and lock the rope again, then 'stand on the rope again'...
You do NOT pull urself up with the rope....most of our arms are not that powerful, its about locking the rope and standing up again and again. -

keyword is momentum(to clear the concertina wire)...dun stand at the top and then jump...no momentum and U have to use extra effort to jump away from the wires...and land with both knees slightly bent(prevent spin injury)...hold rifle horizontally in front of U(prevent U poking urself with the rifle when U land...U never know where U might poke)Originally posted by bladez87:is there anyway to overcome the fear of jumping low ramp? or anywhere to train when we book out? i really wanna pass my SOC in unit, and not let my commanders f me to pass. -

I neber really used arm's strength at low rope...its a technique issue. -
I think all the runners will eventually discover it's all about the lower body when scaling the low rope. Basically, it'll be the inverse of how you descend down.
Crunch knot straighten, crunch knot straighten .... *tap* ... stoop straighten knot, stoop straighten knot ... *dismount*
Don't need arm strength? Wait till you try the Advanced Obstacle Course, or running the SOC in FBO ~lol~
Maybe trainees will gain more confidence if the PTIs & DIs show how you cannot fall off after securely treading the knot (eg. squat & stretch in mid-air, or lean outwards & wave the free arm about).
