His purpose might not be top bully you or anything but as a way to make you open up and speak up more. As others mentioned, you'll be there for your entire NS life, everyone have to depend on each other for the next 2 yrs and for the next 10 reservist cycles.Originally posted by iluvmilky:the sargent even make me the platoon ic he knows that i talk too quietly but still

During my BMT all the 'hardcore' would group together to light up during smoke break and then there was this guy who came over and asked me for a stick like he was John Wayne,he then asked me to light it up for him....but the cigarette was still in his hand he kena farked by me teruk teruk until end up one corner like a sick puppyOriginally posted by blitzonic:Only you yourself can know what works best in improving your socialization/interaction skills.
I can only suggest the usual icebreaking tips for NS, mainly those that share common ground or can life morale during the appropriate occasions: transistor radio (better yet, self-appoint yourself Radio I/C); latest newspapers; updated magazines; heating coil & metal container (for cooking Maggi Mee); pork floss (or any finger food that doesn't count as snacks & can pass around when outfield); prickly-heat talcum powder, etc. But take it slow, lah. Don't come across as overbearing, or inadvertently kena Blanjah King.
Learn to talk c-o-c-k too, without faking it. Be moderate cuz, if you stay with the unit after BMT, the specialists will likely be posted in (to train together with the mono-intakers) during trade course &, subsequently, the officers & Tekong-trained men too. Unit lingo tends to be traditionally Hokkien or at least Singlish, but once the other English- & Malay-speaking personnel join up, the balance shall be more evenly tilted & "cosmopolitan."
[Hey, moderator: "c-o-c-k" is censored here?]
