for me i attended my officer (Cpt) function which is a wedding cause hes a excellent officer whom i respected.
there was another function that i was invited to attend by my spec superior (SSG), i purposely make myself to have duty on the day (as in exchange duty with my colleague) so that i cant attend n i told him i got duty .
so u see it depends on u.. if u like yr encik go for his wedding -
When I got married, I invited some ex-mates who are regulars, still in the army. Wow ! They don't know market rates. Civilians give ang pow commensurate to per head value of the dinner, some more. Only army people give very little. Luckily, only a handful are SAF personnel.
During our get-together, I heard from other friends, same thing also. They think dinner serve combat ration ! -
