The criteria of entering a Scout platoon from a Infantry platoon in the same unit is definitely possible. It all depends on your CO of the unit who decide the requirements.
Like my CO, he take scouts as his life. So most of the Best and Fittest recruits got transferred to SP to be in scout platoon.
If you have interests in becoming a scout, approach your PC and tell him. Ultimately after BMT, he is the one who will decide to post you out or keep u in his platoon. -

I do not think mono intake will take back anyone for reBMT. if you ooc, go recourse and pass, the only combat vocation you can hold i think is RP.
That's what happened to me! But in the end, i became a scout. -

A unit only has a mono intake when its previous mono intake batch has ORD so its like once every 2 years per company. Its not like tekong which take in new batches of recruits every 3 months. Anyway, BMT recourse is normally many months after ooc or for some its just before ORD. Its not going to be directly after you ooc that you goes for the next recourse etc. -

anyway... iirc, this is the guy asking nonstop abt going overseas b4 even enlisting and that irritating passport expiry (which it is not at all) questions that drove us crazy siao kias... -

During my time (circa. 1987), they only take scouts from SAFINCOS (what is now known as SISPEC today), We have to undergo a vocational interview before being selected. Section commanders have very little control over the men because they are all of the same rank and same batch! It's not just the Best & the Fittest, per se. Must also need more aptitude nowadays, with GPS technology available & survival skills (eg. rudimentary medical savvy) still relevant.
