Kevlar was the first material by Dupont, after steel helmet. Subsequently, re-engineered, back-engineered, counter-engineered, came Twaron, Spectra. I think there are a couple more similar materials for the ballistic helmets. I thought we always refer to the SAF issues as "kevlar helmets"? Even though it's not strictly correct. Kevlar is the material; we don't have a local equivalent name for the helmet itself, ala the Americans & their Pasgt.

On a more serious note, you might want to try contacting the singapore embassy of the dangerous country that you are visiting and see if they help you in any way?
