What is the criteria to go for BAC for reservist? Have u seen any reservist espcially non red beret go for basic airborne course?Originally posted by Gedanken:Parachute Training Wing.
He was diplomatic and goes wherever the stronger wind blows Even survived s scandal in the SAF but on a scale of 10 as a soldier I would rate him as a 6.5Originally posted by specfore:Yupp same guy.. .... he has a pin in his ankle and lower leg.
Good chap....but I thot he had retired as a regular. What's his rank now? Looks like MWO or something. He was a regular 2WO and a RSM in our reserve unit.
Ahhh.... I was just going to say almost the same thing. We had some problem with him in our reserve unit. He virtually ruled over all the privates and LCPs in the unit as RSM. Usually ignoring the junior commanders ( LTAs and SGTs).... but "supporting" the CPTs and higher. Well, one can argue that he ranks above other NCOs but then for discipline and organisational efficiency, he should not undermine our authority. If there is a counter-order for administrative issues, he should speak to us first and let us issue the counter -order.Originally posted by Short Ninja:He was diplomatic and goes wherever the stronger wind blows Even survived s scandal in the SAF but on a scale of 10 as a soldier I would rate him as a 6.5

for a WO .... being assigned to a reserve unit is almost like a career dead end ... a window seat till the time for the chap to retire ...Originally posted by specfore:Ahhh.... I kind of suspected he may had a problem somewhere but then I sort of accepted that he is gung-ho and what do you do with soldiers like him.
I would say that his organisation skills are pretty good though. Rate him 7 to 8 /10.
He must have done well , because he looks like he has been promoted.
yes yes...now that i remember..his name was Gana..MWO during my time if im not wrong..he was seated next to me during SAFTI Seminar 05..ask me got pen he can borrow..then i tio stunned by all his badges so many times i stole glances at his badges sia Him, being with PTW sure got lots of wings sia..including this which i finally after 2 years, just managed to find outOriginally posted by specfore:I beg to differ. He's very well trained. Not just the parachuting side. During my time when I met him in my reservist, he was sent on various courses... mountaineering, chemical warfare etc etc. I don't think he was in cold storage in my reserve unit, in fact we had a few regulars, officers and WOs with us , who were ex- SOF and other "high flying" vocations. Our reserve unit was rather unique and most regulars of the right vocation came in for 18 mths to 2yrs and then got posted to better jobs. One officer became head of TRADOC. Another went onto to command an active guards battalion.Originally posted by Master -_-:yes yes...now that i remember..his name was Gana..MWO during my time if im not wrong..he was seated next to me during SAFTI Seminar 05..ask me got pen he can borrow..then i tio stunned by all his badges so many times i stole glances at his badges sia Him, being with PTW sure got lots of wings sia..including this which i finally after 2 years, just managed to find out

Were you from 'Dieppe Barracks'.There were no condemn people in this unit but just a place they go to either before retiring or waitng to go to some other better places.like a 'Time Out' in a basketball game>Originally posted by specfore:He's very well trained. I happened to know all the people from Changi and some of the guards people from your unit. The good, the bad and the ugly>Originally posted by specfore:Yes..... how did you guess
You can also say that the unit concerned was a resting place --- maybe also pre-retirement place. A lot of good regulars. One CO we had was an SOF commander. One of our S3, went to command an active guards battalion. Our unit 2i/c was a LRRP commander.
As for the reservists, we all had some skill related to the job ! If you know what I mean !
U used to be a regular? What is ur rank before u left service?Originally posted by Short Ninja:I happened to know all the people from Changi and some of the guards people from your unit. The good, the bad and the ugly>
