hey man, of course it is normal to feel nervous and scared. I remember I was so dreadful of going into NS, and throughout the week before my enlistment, i was in a bloody bad mood. And then e day b4 enlistment, i even pray the next day will never come. I rather got Armageddon than BMT!
Looking back, its damn silly of me lor. Especially since my platoon mates, and in particular my section mates are nice people. Everyone tries to help one another. Conflicts and disagreement will probably be there, coz so many different characters coming together and stay under 1 roof. The thing is to know how 2 keep ur temper in cheek if u are the kind that flare up easily. If u disagree with ur platoon or section mate, do not confront him in front of other people. Just pull him 2 1 side and tell he nicely what u don't like about him. That usually helps -
I think theres no confinement for BMT anymore right? I read it somewhere. Its normal to feel anxious... the days always fly by and suddenly its your enlistment date and your on the ferry... However you should be able to make friends fast, since everyone also scared so you should bond with your bunkmates fast and also your buddy.
My buddy used to wear contact lens every morning but of course you gotta wake up earlier loh... However its hard to observe proper hygiene and if i never remember wrongly, the optician told me before the recommended wearing period is 8 hrs... so every morning u 5+ am wear until at night for a week, i think quite xiong. -

no more parents' visiting day. -
nowadays BMT life very welfare already. can use handphone, can sleep on the bed during the day, edible cookhouse food etc.

Is it true that the bed is a mattress rather than a sponge foam and there's air-con in the bunks. Sorry if these questions have been asked a million times already, I dunno if it is in the BMT FAQ thread.

Don't worry guys. Despite the many complains about the SAF... your NS life won't be all bad.
Just do what you are told and it'll all be over sooner than you know. 2yrs will go by really quickly.

I had the same fear and nerves when I enlisted.Looking back, it's a wonder I managed to ORD. But I did, and it wasn't as bad as I thought. Oh! And you just might make friends in there that you never will anywhere else. Really good friends.
Theres something about suffering togerther that makes strong bonds of friendship.
