On MC, Rest At Home. Can Go Out Buy Food/ Takeaway/ Makan?

aiyah... for me one of my man damn obvious lor
every sunday take MC then sometimes extend up to 3-4 days.
We started to suspect him when he book in late, then ask why he's late, he say he was rushed to A&E in town.
We called that hospital and there's no record of that. So he got himself 3 confinements which he intentionally booked medical appointments on those days.
So we tell him to book out and come back for confinement after the appointment. But this @sshole get MC during the appointment.
Then the MC would extend till monday or tuesday.
So we did spot check during his MC and we are ready to collect evidence already.
Called him twice, his mom pick up saying he went to lunch. Then a couple of mins after hanging up, he would call camp and say he is out for lunch. So we asked him to call from HOME to PC's handphone in 30 mins.
He did.
But we wanted to recommend him for BMT recourse, we looked thru the records and he showed only 30% attendance.
Brought matter up to CO, CO just say let him go!!!!!
We (OC, PC, PS, Sgts) looked damn stupid man!!! -
Well, seems like your man has some issues up there.But technically speaking, he managed to play the system..

well there's a why handle these guys but the CO or the one in charge must be firm. In my unit, whenever some of these guys, MCs king, get MCs from private clinic, the CO/ the in charge insists they come back to endorse their MCs on that very day. Whenever they got medical appointment, ask them to see the MOs with the letter, then ask the medical centre to book the appointment for them. Like that the MO can request for a medical report from the hospital.

he's been here 1.5 years and he's got over 300 days of mc. i see him maybe 1 or 2 days a week. there's another guy here same pattern, but his uncle is MP, everytime wanna charge him, uncle write letter come in.

you are talking about indian... hmm your case sounds so similar to mine because I got this guy whose brother is an MP (provost) officer.
Basically he showed up for BMT 1 month, went specialist for knee problem and MC'ed till he ORD.
Worse, he got CPL rank 3 months before ORD. -

The best thing to do is still to monitor him, let him take his RSOs and if he has genuine problems, help him.

now i have no problems with chaps going out to represent the formation or SAFSA to play sports or whatever, but like the case above, it seems to me that some chaps are using their status as SAFSA atheletes to keng ....
have you seen people with downgraded upper limbs playing squash ... or people with leg injuries training for atheletics ? ... this is ridiculous if you ask me ... -

k, i read it somewhere in Jan 2005 when i was tasked to "research" on the kind of actions my OC can take... so i kinda forgotten how it is exactly phrased.
Basically, it says like, [serviceman who has medical certs issued by private doctors may remain at home and rest until the MC ends.
However, serviceman may be required to endorse the MC by MOs.]
The ambiguity comes from.... "until the MC ends", but in practice servicemen have been asked to book in the night of their last day of MC.
I think lately this practice has been changed to requiring them to book in next morning.
"may remain at home and rest", it does not specify if serviceman must STRICTLY stay home and rest with provisions for meals.
"may be required to endorse"... it never state if the MC has to be endorsed on the day the serviceman returns after his MC ends, or he can be called back to first endorse the MC and then use his MC. -

Anyway can give confinement... he will reprt to camp one day...keep quiet...when he report in, tell him he got 7x confinement. Consequetive weekends, no nights off no nothing. WAHAHAHAAH watch him cry.
Now if MO give him MC, there really isn't any reason why he cannot rest in bunK. -
Call me MC king. I used to take MC so much that the Polyclinic prevent me frm taking it anymore. Well hahaha

hi there, i have spontaneous pneumothorax on my left lung..in simple terms, collapse lungs. i went to see specialist at NUH and he asked whether i wanna go for op immediately or let it heal up..i told him i wanna let it heal, so he told me to see him in 2months time. Gave me 2 months mc and painkillers. he advised me to go swimming to build up my lungs. So basically during the 1st 2 weeks of my mc, i am in pain, but i have recovered since. Aiya if sick and take MC,it best to stay at home unless u r going to buy food and also when u take mc try to think of those in camps,i HATE those who take MC while they are going to do guard duty the next day,in the end who suffer,the standby guards suffer
i got it once,i was actually taking leave for my birthday,in the end someone take MC and i was being call back for standby guard and know what,my buddy saw that fellow on MC outside shopping with his gf.
