Joseph Campbell, who was not a Mithras scholar, described the birth of Mithras as a virgin birth, like that of Jesus.[77] He gives no ancient source for his claim.
Mithras was not thought of as virgin born in any ancient source. Rather, he arose spontaneously from a rock in a cave.[78] In Mithraic Studies it is stated that Mithras was born as an adult from solid rock, "wearing his Phrygian cap, issues forth from the rocky mass. As yet only his bare torso is visible. In each hand he raises aloft a lighted torch and, as an unusual detail, red flames shoot out all around him from the petra genetrix."[79]
David Ulansey speculates that this was a belief derived from the Perseus' myths which held he was born from an underground cavern.[80]
They are all talk but no actions.
Also the prove that your prove is bullshit
The idea of a relationship between early Christianity and Mithraism is based on a passing remark in the 2nd century Christian writerJustin Martyr, who accused the Mithraists of diabolically imitating the Christian communion rite.[74] Based upon this, Ernest Renanin 1882 set forth a vivid depiction of two rival religions: "if the growth of Christianity had been arrested by some mortal malady, the world would have been Mithraic,"[75] Edwin M. Yamauchi comments on Renan's work which, "published nearly 150 years ago, has no value as a source. He [Renan] knew very little about Mithraism..."[76]

or u mean when they happen they just find the relevant line in the bibles to fit that in?
and i dont mean only the bible, but nostradamus and other works too

Your holy book is supposed to be the words of god. so your claim "most of the bible's been proven to be true" is just not good enough. It should be all.
Anyway two days ago somone raised the similar cna challenged other to give an instance where prophecy has not come true and I posted "How about Isaiah 7:14"
I am yet to hear any opinion from Christians on this greatest prophecy of Christianity.

sure... at least there is a supernatural realm.... which opens up more options than the denial of a supernatural realm....
but end of the day... argue at forum over theology is quite pointless.

what problem do you have Isaiah 7:14?
Originally posted by Sgforum King:its a "i say". its my opinion. it could be real but then again it could be fake. there are old testaments and new testaments which people just change it to make it more "friendly"
Actually you did not say maybe.....and I quote you what you said as above.....aiyah...you lie again!

You said "who can trust just some writings on the bible? Thats why i say its fake." so all those anti chritisans materials you read on the internet should also be treated the same and you should also declare them as fake right? Or it will be double standard right?
Any then you are in fact not certain that the Bible is fake because you also said: "maybe it will be revealed that it is real by other people" and "it could be real but then again it could be fake"
And since you said if Bible is true, then God is real, at best you are only unsure if God is real and cannot be sure that God does not exist.
And if you still insist that Bible is fake, then how can you come to any conclusion using something that is fake? So, even if bible is fake, it does not means God did not exist. On the other hand, you are right that if Bible is real, then God is real....
Don't get diverted and remember to back up your baseless allegations and lies with your ONE photo from your ONE friend in Africa hor.....

The real reason i am not a christian anymore is because i think there is no God. I dont read anti-christian on the internet. its my opinion. i still have not receive the picture. and yes the bible is pretty fake to me. it does not mean i am unsure for that statement as it has not yet been proved to the world. U want me to elaborate more?

Aiyoooooo.....I really don't care the reason you are not a Christian.....The only thing is that you must back up your baseless allegations and lies...
No point saying I didn't say.....then keena quoted as got say or says I said and kenna quoted as never said .....which means you lie...
And no point saying it is fake when you cannot proved it is fake.....and in fact from your own writting, proved that in actual fact, you are just unsure....
And you are quoting from anti-christians website to back up your claims and yet telling us that we should not believe in Bible authors?
If it is fake, then it cannot be proven real later.....and if it is real, it cannot be proven as fake later......Can a fake LV somehow become real later or vice versa?
If it is "fake now" and maybe "real later"....it simply means - You are not sure....
If you insist that the bible is fake, then it is fair that we asked you to proved why it is fake since it must have been proven to you that it is fake....otherwsie you won't say it is fake right? And from what you have written, I conclude that you are unsure if Bible is real or fake which is additional reasons why it is fair I ask you to prove your case....
I even give you multiple choice answers liao ......
Can you be more coherent or not?

Can u prove that its real? 100% not. i dont expect any1 to believe my "claims". And ur examples are really ridiculous. And yes, i insist the bible is fake untill i have hard prove. I dont expect people to believe my "claims" but u expect people to believe ur claims because "God said so". And i guess christianity has made u too dumb to understand simple english.
I elaborated many many times, i expect u to understand. Just like the fact that some people claim that bigfoot is fake and some say that its real. who knows?

presbyterian. 5 years. Religions are a restriction. I feel that there is no hard prove as to whether there is a God or not. And also the fact that u in christian term, u have to believe in him to go to heaven, a God like this is a extremely jealous God, i would rather go to hell then heaven, but i dont believe in an afterlife anymore so even if there is i rather go to hell. And also the fact that there are many twists and turns in the events of making the bible. there are the old testaments and the news testaments, which is more trueful?

Of course your holy book is real, just like you and me. But is it really god inspired?
It is not that Christians claim it is so it must be. Muslims also have their holy book directly dictated to Mohammad, which is more superior than just being inspired, yet the two book do not really tell the same fairy tales. So what say you? Which is 'real'?
And also the fact that Christians are really intolerant of other religions and people that do not believe in it. A real life e.g is when i was in pri sch, my classmates keep bothering me and ask me to go to the church with them even when i told them i dont want to be a christian anymore.

he is just one of those many christians with the same intolerant personality.
Isaiah 7.14 "Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign, behold, the young woman shall conceive and bare a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."
This supposedly prophesized the virgin birth of Jesus was spoken to king Ahaz, to assure him that he would not be attacked by the military alliance between king Pekah of Israel and Rezin of Syria. The prophecy was fulfilled (Isaiah 8.3) but its fulfillment did not prevent the fate of Ahaz from being attacked and defeated by the alliance despite (2King 16.6) god’s assurance that it would not happen (Isaiah 7.7)
