A Little Lesson on Jade
JADE
Jade is considered to be nature's tranquilizer, a stone which helps us to be more claim and relaxed. Opens intuitive and psychic abilities. In Chinese Beliefs, Culture & Feng Shui, Jade is known to have the power to bring you good luck, ward off evil spirits and keep demons away. Jade has always been prised as precious, they exude very Positive Energy or "Bao Qi", a portent of "Sheng Qi".
Jade has been adored and revered by the Chinese since time ancient times. From the down of civilization, in spite of the formidable that have fallen upon the Chinese, both sentiment toward jade and the tradition of jade artistry have endured the passage of time and remained undiminished in strength.
NEPHRITE & JADEITE
Nephrite
Chemically speaking a silicate of calcium and magnesium, nephrite belongs to the amphibole group of minerals. Throughout the ages, nephrites has been frequently employed as a working material. Nephritic appears in numerous colors, snowy white, bluish white, yellowish hue, brown, gray, black, green, dark green. Commonly use in jade carving art.
Jadeite
A silicate of sodium and aluminum, jadeite is classed as a pyroxene. Although in class different from nephrite, jadeite shares many characteristics with it, namely a high degree of hardness and firmness, and a luster that lends an appearance of transparency. Additionally, variations is iron content result in brownish-red, dark green, or lavender hues. Presence of minute amounts of chromium yields emerald green. Commonly use in jewelry.
A B C JADE
A, B, C Jade Type or grade A , B, C , commonly use by jade dealers to identify the different type of treatment of the jade. Not refer the quality grading of the jade.
Type A or Grade A
Natural Jade without treatment.
Type B or Grade B
Natural Jade treated with polymer.
Type C or Grade C
Natural Jade treated with enhanced color.
Recent years, there is also an emergence of D Grade Jade which the stone is not Jade at all. Good, Authentic Jade don't come cheap, what you pay is what you get.
Every Piece of LOA Jade Pi Xiu are of A Grade Jade, all are Natural & Unique, handcarved by Skilled Craftmen, none is the same, minor natural flaw in the stone is normal as there can never be a perfect flawless Jade. Just like there will always be clouds in the sky so are these natural flaws in Jade.
Flawless Jade are likely to be B, C Grade Artificially Enhanced Jade like impregnated with color, removing flaws filling with polymer, such Jade mineral structures are damaged due to chemical process become weak, colour will fade in time to come, a Super Green Flawless B, C Grade Jade will have patches of white all over it in time to come just like rashes outbreak. If they are very cheap then highly possible they are D Grade Jade which is literally not jade at all.

I've got a brass pixiu that is very shiny that it looks as if it's gold-plated.
mine has also been kai guang by another master, he used red ink to dot the eyes. before that, the pixiu's eyes were covered with a piece of cloth.
he told me that pixiu when made of metal, is the most potent than when they're made of semi-precious stone.

Metal Pi Xiu or Stone Pi Xiu both are potent & beneficial to user in their own way. A Metal Pi Xiu is good at deflecting all negativities & bad luck because it exerts Strong Metal Element however it may be too sharp although it protected the owner from harm but it will deflect all negativities & bad luck to the surrounding area or people. Then yesterday my mum told me got a number struck starter prize and omg i never buy on sat coz of long long queue and lots of uncles somemore
But my mum got buy and she win liao lor
Then keep nagging me abt why i never buy liao
i already mad liao den still ask me why

Let me share with you an incident that happened on the First saturday of January, that day i meet Susan they all for lunch at Sakura. I got Susan a momento from Beijing, Beijing 2008 Olympic Mascot handphone sling. Then that day she confirmed a Pi Xiu order from me, she went to buy 4D. I got to rush off to Takashimaya so i tell her to meet me later she go ahead n buy her 4D. She suggested we share & buy the Sakura receipt number, i said ok. Then i told her "2008" should buy abit, might come out since you just confirmed the Pi Xiu, Pi Xiu can bestow wealth. Later in the evening, true enough the 4D result come out 3rd prize "2008". This doesn't only apply to metal pi xiu.
Basically, ANY fengshui objects which is placed wrongly will have adverse. The stone pixiu is also not spared. But I feel that you sound as if only metal pixiu will be liable to bad placements, stone pixiu also can be placed wrongly.Metal Pi Xiu can be very sharp & not so obedient.

This is also one of the biggest disadvantage of stone statues - they break too easily.
As you mentioned, one stone pixiu costs $3000. If it's dropped on the floor, there goes your $3000.

According to the master, dotting the eyes with red ink is as good as empowering the whole statue.
I don't understand why you must empower every body part of the pixiu.
What is important, lies in the chanting/verses. Not the number of body parts you empower. For your information. -
