Unlucky February Dates

According to the English historian Richard Grafton these certain dates of the month were unlucky as published in the 'Manual' in 1565. Days throughout the year were identified and of course could have related to any day of the week. The date was the most important point to consider. The work was reputed to have some credence with support given by astronomers of the day. Exactly why these dates are unlucky is unclear today but by looking at the calendar of days an idea of the major occurrences can be seen.
So what do you think? Hahaha

A Treatise on Negative Energy

Negative energy gets blamed all the time for bad things happening to good witches. People are said to be emitting it when they're being perceived as argumentative, angry, or otherwise disagreeable.
But what is negative energy, really?
To define negative energy, we will first start with mathematics. "Negative" in mathematical terms refers to the taking away of a value, such as 4-3, which would be read as "four plus negative three" or "four minus three." As you can see, it refers to a subtraction of the original value, four, by a negative value, three. Further exploring this, if we take 3 and subract four, we arrive at Negative One, which is 0-1 (zero, minus one). Zero is the equilibrium between positive values and negative values.
In magic, this zero-value is balance. However, many factors add value to the "positive side" by doing magic that adds to our world. Other factors subtract value by taking things away. An example of positive earth magic would be a tree seed taking root in the earth and growing to become a tree. An example of negative earth magic would be the death or destruction of that tree, perhaps by lightning or insect infestation.
Now, here's where the cycle of magic REALLY gets going. Even the most positive of magic eventually evolves to negative value. The tree that grows from our cute little seedling will eventually die and decay, even if it lives a normal, healthy tree life. However, each time it is threatened, and finally when it dies, it blows out a pollen of seedlings - negative evolving into positive.
Nature is striving evermore for balance, that zero value. When there is too much positive value, nature will find a way to rid itself of it by tossing out some negative value. Too much foliage? Solution - insect infestations, weather phenomena, deer overpopulation. The land is decimated so there is room for new things to grow. Then we have too much destructive energy in the area, which destroys the destructive population and allows regrowth to begin. So really, we're not talking about negative energy, we're talking about destructive energy (and thus its opposite, constructive, rather than positive).
Destruction and death are nature's way of clearing a path for the new.
So my question is, why run away from "negative energy," when it makes fertile ground for new life?
Just a thought about a commonly-used phrase.
