Mount Tangkuban Perahu near Bandung in West Java began rumbling overnight and more than 100 volcanic activities were detected on Wednesday at the 2,000-metre high mountain. -

Centre officials are unsure when and if Mount Talang will erupt again, but they believe there is little imminent danger at Lake Toba.
Dr Fauzi, Head of Earthquake Engineering and Tusnami Division at the Indonesian National Seismological Centre, said: "The activities of the volcanic eruptions is triggered by large earthquake. That can happened. Again, this depends on the status of the volcano. If the status is very dangerous, then one trigger from the large earthquake will explode the volcano. If it's not, then there may be just small explosions."
Asked when the series of earthquakes responsible for the volcanic activity will stop, the centre says that's difficult to predict.
Dr Fauzi added: "We cannot predict earthquake but volcanologist can predict volcanic eruption because the precursor is very clear."
Currently, more than 90 of the 130 active volcanoes in Indonesia have monitoring stations.
And with scientists warning of increased seismic activity in the country, officials will be stepping up their surveillance. -

Lake Toba is such a beautiful place, she is definitely alive. In the late 80s, Lake Toba raised alot of interest in me, its seems to attract me alot ever since i saw a picture of it. Awaken from her sweet slumber probably will make a tremendous adverse impact globally.

Powerful quakes rock Indonesia's Java island
JAKARTA : Two earthquakes, one measuring up to 6.5 on the Richter scale and felt in Jakarta, shook Indonesia's Java island on Friday, but there were no casualties or damage, seismologists said.
An undersea quake measuring between 6.0 and 6.5 occurred at 11:17am (0417 GMT) and was felt in the Indonesian capital and its outskirts, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said.
Will this cause Lake Toba to be awaken and detory natural??? -
The epicentre was in the Sunda Strait, a narrow stretch of water separating Java and Sumatra islands, in which the remains of the legendary Krakatoa volcano continue to smoulder.
Another tremor struck at 9:06am and was felt in the nearby city of Bandung, the capital of West Java province, the agency said.
The epicentre was 19 kilometres south of the city. -

Yes, it is linked to the recent spate of earthquakes. The Earth has changed a lot... there's a lot of plate movements and now many volcanoes have been awakened.
