Frixion Ball
For the first time, mistakes are allowed! After years of research, Pilot Pen has come up with a new twist in corrective writing by releasing Pilot FriXion Ball, the world’s first pen with revolutionary thermo-sensitive ink that disappears when subject to heat by friction. No ink eradicators or rubber erasers required – the user simply has to erase by rubbing with the debris-free end-stub!
The ink in Pilot FriXion Ball disappears easily and cleanly, making it perfect for secret messaging, crossword puzzles and everyday use! Set to heat up Singapore in October 2007, the refillable Pilot FriXion Ball will be available at major bookstores in five different ink colours – blue, black, red, green and violet. Each pen will retail at S$2.20 each.
Consistently one step ahead when it comes to users’ needs, Pilot Pen tirelessly researched and developed this new-generation ink that reacts to changes in temperature. Termed “Metamor Ink”, this thermo-reactive ink becomes translucent when subjected to heat caused by friction (at 65°C). Use a hairdryer or microwave if there is more to be erased! To reactivate the ink, the writing has to be subjected to freezing temperatures of about -20°C. This is where a freezer or aerosol spray will come in handy.
Pilot FriXion Ball is the perfect fix-it for users who constantly grapple with writing errors or want convenience in writing, deleting and retrieving words. With a few flicks of the end-stub, the ink will disappear almost instantaneously, allowing users to write, delete and repeat with no worries!
Note: Pilot Pen advises against the use of Pilot FriXion Ball ink on documents where writing needs to be of permanent nature such as legal documents, examination papers and cheques. To avoid accidental erasure, do not leave the written words in places where it may be subjected to high temperatures for a prolonged period of time.
