  what kind of specs should i be looking at?

  uhh.. let's put it this way.. my little Sony DSC H9 outperforms my Nikon D70s DSLR with a 18-200mm lens (apart from the shutter lag)

  this is what the new point and shoots can do..

  i'd go look at the Panasonic Lumix series..

  best to go ask the professionals.. hold the camera in your hands and see if you're comfortable with it... i recommend going to John 3:16 at Funan on a non-peak period to go talk to them.. they'll recommend stuff to you

  well, the current DSLRs are amazing.. especially the Nikon D300 and the D700 but they're expensive as hell.. and you have to sink a king's ransom into things like lenses.. but may be able to get away with just an 18-200mm..

  but why do that when you can do the same with the PNSs?

  also try to get those with the manual settings..

  bloody hell...

  my colleague came and kp me say i nv do this n do tat...

  tat time i ask him to update then he say no need because covered in contract..

  then today he come back and say i this n tat, this n tat then i nv brief him to update...

   

  bloody hell...

  tat time for 3 months i 1 man show he also nv say anything...

  ask him to update then he say he bo eng...

  then now he eng liao then come n kpkb...

   

  now tell me say new project come in liao he bo eng again...

  then i 1 man show again loh..

  3 months later then kpkb again loh...

  farking idiot...

  dunno leh.. i think they're all pretty similar..

  i got my Sony coz of the rechargable battery, the versatility, the range (15x zoom) and all the manual settings.. but i forgot one thing: it didn't have a hotshoe in case i wanted to fit an external flash on it..

  av's little Ricoh is excellent.. and it can shoot RAW, something which my Sony cannot do.. and he's got an external flash for it..

  i think the aperature thingy, shutter speed, optical zoom and megapixel are quite impt, yes?

  if you're just hacking about, 5MP is enough.. the usual ones are around 8MP these days..

  the rest, aperture and whatever, are manual settings.. you were looking at the H50? it has.. just ask if the camera has them.. the really small PNS cameras usually don't have them...

  optical zoom is good.. however the more there is, the more stable you need the camera to be, so Vibration Reduction is also good....

  Digital Zoom is useless..

  looked at a few models...

  managed to understand a few features only so i thought i come in here and ask u guys...

  yesterday at 11+am, my boss say he's going to our sister property for a meeting..

  he never came back to the office..

  now, he say he's going there again for a meeting..
