Yes... I am a Permanent Resident of Australia since 2002. I have been in Melbourne since 1996 though...

I personally quite enjoy living in Melbourne. Life is not as busy/hectic/stressful here as in Singapore.
I guess everywhere we go, there are some goods and bads. When we decide to stay, we might as well learn to adapt and accept it.
Nowadays, I only miss my family and food back home. BTW, I am a Malaysian who was born and had lived in Brunei until I came to Oz to study. I know it's complicated.... but anyway... it's long story...

Last time I saw my family was in 2006 at my sister's wedding in Singapore. I am planning to go home for CNY next year. I will also visit Singapore so hopefully will get a chance to meet up with a few people from Sgforums. If you're not going anywhere during CNY, please come along too.

CNY...i will be stocking up bak gua and cuttlefish for a group of hungry gui....
i think i will use the discount voucher to buy bak gua and keep them in the freezer and then thaw them when they come next CNY

I guess that's one of the differences between Brunei and Singapore in celebrating CNY..... Bak gua is not a common thing we serve our visitors during CNY. I do admit, though, many people from Brunei always go back with few kgs of bak gua when visiting Singapore. My family is one of these people....
As you know Brunei is a Muslim country so we don't have an open market that sells Pork products. No alcohol can be sold in Brunei too.

Last time I visited Singapore, hubby ended up in hospital for few hours due to severe food poisoning. Hopefully it won't happen again this time...
