Thought I create this topic for folks to share some interesting iPhone apps.
I just purchase SoundHound (US$4.99) yesterday and I think it's an amazing app, you play, sing or hum any songs (4secs to 10 secs) and it is able to identify the name of the song 95% of the time.
Apparently the tune gets cross reference with a database of millions of songs in midomi.com to come up with a match for your song.

Even with a noisy background?
my symbian phone can also ID song but need a quiet background when u sing, hum, play the song...

I have TV on in the background, it ID the song correctly.
It can ID classical (opera even) to heavy metal songs, the only problem I have is D&B and trance. Think it's because not mainstream music so midomi.com doesn't have the songs.

Android has this app call Shazam. And is free.

Damn!
The resolution for iPhone 4 is at least 3-4 times sharper than 3GS.
Only setback is it's micro-SIM, some of the countries I travel to still don't have micro-SIM. How to switch to local SIM card? Unless I cut out.
