  Anyone care to tell me what is the difference between a interceptor , fighter and air superior aircraft ?

  interceptors carry less armament, they are meant to fly fast, are more maneuverable and engage the enemy at the early stages
  
  fighters... errrr... fight, carry more armament.
  
  but you hear of more multi-role aircraft, that is where they can be an interceptor, bomber, fighter... depending on the mission they can configure the aircraft accordingly, unlike during the past a particular aircraft can only do so much
