yeah ... NE MRT is starting soon ...Originally posted by SBS9818A:Hello, tranquilice. Hope to see people around.
The NE line will open very soon (either in May or June) and I'm sure the 2 train operators and LTA will work closely to prevent similar incident to happen again.Originally posted by the Bear:When is the NE line going to open and how is it going to prevent incidents like the idiot driving his car onto the tracks from becoming a catastrophe when there's no one driving?
Oh, saw this on the train this morning... the silly LCD screens in the train, there was a windows error in the middle of the screen...
If the train system is running on Windoze, there's an accident and a total shutdown waiting to happen...
The rare incident of the car flying onto the tracks at Lentor or some old man deciding to take a healthy stroll on the tracks will never happen in the NE line, unless someone left the exits to the underground track wide open, or that car is loaded with some kind of bunker busting deviceOriginally posted by tranquilice:The NE line will open very soon (either in May or June) and I'm sure the 2 train operators and LTA will work closely to prevent similar incident to happen again.
About the LCD, do you people think it's informative enough?
Working for SMRT??Originally posted by tranquilice:Welcome to the Singapore MRT forum! Feel free to post topics related to the MRT in Singapore.
Regarding the location of the train and external camera views, can you please elaborate.Originally posted by EXCO:The LCD is more of an advertisement tool than an information panel.SMRT could have made it more interesting by showing the location of the train or external camera views, or even news headlines, instead they chose to make money with it, leaving out any useful information. To be honest, I don't think scrolling the name of the next stop is that informative to make a big hoohaa about.
No, but if the company has good position, I may consider.Originally posted by Parka:Working for SMRT??
You suggested a LRT sub-forum... I think it's better if I change this forum to include LRT too.Originally posted by whiteillum:i live in Bukit Panjang and i have been a firm supporter (not willingly, cos if i dun take the LRT, there is no way i can get home unless i walk for 45mins or take a cab).
Can i suggest a sub-forum called Singapore LRT??
now that TIBS and SMRT have merged, i am sure they have wide ranging positions for your pick.Originally posted by tranquilice:No, but if the company has good position, I may consider.
But there are no vacancies currently.Originally posted by JLennon:now that TIBS and SMRT have merged, i am sure they have wide ranging positions for your pick.
oh ya, after restructuring comes retrenchment.... forgot.....Originally posted by tranquilice:But there are no vacancies currently.
Agreed.Originally posted by JLennon:oh ya, after restructuring comes retrenchment.... forgot.....
I think what he means is that cameras can be fitted outside the train and images feeded into the LCD TV system, enabling passengers to see the outside.Originally posted by tranquilice:Regarding the location of the train and external camera views, can you please elaborate.
This is so true.Originally posted by JLennon:oh ya, after restructuring comes retrenchment.... forgot.....
Why do this? I mean the passengers can see the scenery outside thru the windows unless the train is in the tunnel.Originally posted by SBS9818A:I think what he means is that cameras can be fitted outside the train and images feeded into the LCD TV system, enabling passengers to see the outside.
GPS system can be installed and pictorial images of where the train is can be beamed as well.
Great, I will be waiting, and I'm sure you have a lot to tell.Originally posted by whiteillum:nice nice
