When is the NE line going to open and how is it going to prevent incidents like the idiot driving his car onto the tracks from becoming a catastrophe when there's no one driving?
Oh, saw this on the train this morning... the silly LCD screens in the train, there was a windows error in the middle of the screen...
If the train system is running on Windoze, there's an accident and a total shutdown waiting to happen... -

The LCD , according to my opinion, is just a high-tech advertisement thingy. The info is dispalyed in one scroll line at the bottom of the screen, and can be kinda hard to read especially in the afternoon with the reflection of the sunlight. Perhaps SMRT can fit some kind of good anti-glare coating. The entire system seemed like being copied from the Hong Kong MTR system, including LTA's new direction panels and the fanciful lettering that they adopted a few years back. Perhaps it can display some things like the E.A.T to the next and to the popular stops. -

The LCD is more of an advertisement tool than an information panel.SMRT could have made it more interesting by showing the location of the train or external camera views, or even news headlines, instead they chose to make money with it, leaving out any useful information. To be honest, I don't think scrolling the name of the next stop is that informative to make a big hoohaa about.

NE mrt underground how to have cars landing on tracks?? one thing is that it's fully automated... electronics components are hard to predict, might go screw lose die to fatique and vibration...

i live in Bukit Panjang and i have been a firm supporter (not willingly, cos if i dun take the LRT, there is no way i can get home unless i walk for 45mins or take a cab).
