http://www.citybuzz.com.sgTo make travelling within the city area even more convenient, SBS Transit will be launching and giving free rides on three CityBuzz services on 13 December 2004.
In line with the CityBuzz, service ambassadors from SBS Transit will be on board selected buses to give away honey to commuters and balloon sculptures to children between 5pm and 7pm on that day.
Looping the city, CityBuzz will operate daily from 10am to 10pm, calling at key stops at Marina Promenade, Esplanade Theatres, City Hall, Clarke Quay, Eu Tong Sen Street, Raffles Hotel and Orchard Road (see attached map for the detailed routeing).
Mr Ong Boon Leong, Chief Operating Officer, SBS Transit said, “CityBuzz will appeal most to tourists as they get to experience the ‘must-see’ areas of Singapore in the most economical way. For the locals, CityBuzz is an alternative mode of transport for travelling within the city besides the existing bus services. The locals can also be buzzed by the sights and sounds of Singapore’s cultural diversity.”
The CityBuzz services are offered on aircon double deckers and will stop at each bus stop every 10-15 minutes. All CityBuzz buses will spot a different service plate from the normal SBS Transit buses and commuters can identify them by looking out for a friendly bee at the bus stops and in front of the buses.
Like a monorail, CityBuzz will call at all designated stops without the need to press the bell for stop. A chime will be sounded at every stop to alert passengers. Fares for CityBuzz are at $1 a trip by ez-link card or cash. A $5 CityBuzzPass is also available for unlimited rides on all CityBuzz services for a day. CityBuzzPass is available at all TransitLink Ticket Offices and authorized sales agents.
