Hi guys... im new here.... venturing out to the world of Gundam....
im a fan of Gundam.. not a big fan but just a fan since Seed...
recently got myself a zero custom 1/100 HG... fixed it and it was fun... however it was not as nice as seen in the picture...
been through a lot of thinking... i think this hobby of fixing gundam model would pay off.. i got no art background and my handicraft sucks... but i like fixing stuff... =X..
but... i need a headstart...
wad do i need to get??paints?? accesories?? where do i get them? and damage??
how do i practise the painting.. etc.?
Thanks in Advance...
Warning: If you want to have Gunpla as a hobby, be prepared to spend a LOT of money.
Anyway, there are shops in Sunshine Plaza, Tiong Bahru Plaza, Suntec City (to name a few) that sells such stuff. Just ask them for the clippers and paints and spray cans and air brushes and whatever you want.
For practice, as you said, practice. =) You can check Youtube for some pointers on customizing or inking your gundam. Oh and practice on the 1/144 ones since they are cheaper and not so heartpain if you spoil them. =P
There is this accesory pack that consist of a piler, screwdriver, file, parts divider and tweezers (I think it costs $20 here, i am not sure abt the price, cos i didn't buy mine here). It helps to make your gundam looks nicer without those runners sticking out ugly (by using the pilers and file). The screw wld come handy when u start buying action base.
I am still a greenhorn to painting too. I suggest u buying a black thin marker to 'draw' out the lines so that ur gundams would look too dull. What I am doing now is using markers to paint. But it gets messy at times.
As mentioned, u get better through experience. and that u can get these stuff at the hobby shops mentioned above (the one at Sunshine Plaza is much friendly, IMO).
haha, for my accessory pack all DIY one. plier replace by the bent scissors for cutting nails (works wonders btw), screwdriver just take spectacle one, parts divider use set square, tweezers buy from guardian. =P also use penknife to cut away the small plastic parts.
probably the only 1 you really need is the pliers, which for a cheap one costs like $8 only. ex one i think cost $30.
