Hi guys, do share pictures of your SD Gundam here. Let me get the ball rolling. Presenting my first-time attempt - #300 Ryuubi Gundam with minimal colouring:
I know it isn't an excellent piece of work to begin with, and I used decals, but comments are welcomed.
Nice and clean work (Especially on the swords)!
Maybe you could try spraying some flat clear over the whole model? That way you could get rid of the shinyness in the plastic.
Thanks, can tell me more bout this flat clear? I don't know what it is =X

flat clear comes in many varieties. It's basically a clear colored paint but with a dull finish (so that it's not glossy).
There are a few varieties, mainly Tamiya, Topcoat or Mr. Hobby.
Then there's the difference of type of paint (lacquer (quite poisonous - spray only in an open area) or acrylic (not as poisonous - but still spray in an open area).
The choice of which one to use depends on what type of paint you're painting your models. The solvent used in lacquer paints will dissolve acrylics. So if you painted using acrylics, DO NOT spray a lacquer clear coat - otherwise your model will turn into a runny/melted mess. However, if you painted using lacquer paints, both lacquer and acrylics work.
starting this series officially this yr =P

no id ont but i admit...kinda hard to do manually......
Mm I'm like kinda new to Gundam, but I do enjoy putting a SD together and admiring it later. I guess it depends on how far we want to go to make it look good, but I'll probably stop short of getting an airbrush or go to extremes to apply Clear Flat unless there's an easier way for a newbie.
my collection is getting bigger.......
Nice Emperor Ryuubi. Is there a specific shop that you go to for better prices?
better pricing wld be HAG , but me i usually go hobby point as is near my house =P

alcoholfueled-vii, if I'm using Gundam markers, will lacquer clear coat dissolve anything? Shouldn't be as Gundam markers are alcohol-based... ?
By the way, how much does a small bottle of Top Clear cost usually?
