Hey guys im currently a newbie at painting gundams and stuff.
I did try to paint my freedom, impulse and exia with some paint i brought from hobby art gallery. However in the new Gundam 00 Season 2 Episode one. it shows Exia in his damaged form. along with his cape and his eye.
so i was thinking of painting my exia that way and i've seen some pretty good ones done by other people

so im just wondering. how do i add this "dirt" effect to make it seems dirty and worn out like the first link. and also about the red eye n stuff . :p
Matte paint, alot of matte paint...... Airbrush too.... the japanese site 1 i think is real pro ones.... Pro till can make models for the instruction manual pro.... newbie like u & me can only dream of making it that good la~ ;)
The blogspot 1 "Easier", but still quite tough if u dont know what to do.... Looks like he burnt/melt some of the parts...(Yes they do that, seen some guy sawed half of his Zaku II's leg off & attach wires to it... damn cool).
Red eye for jp 1 most likely kit-bashed, blog 1 looks stuffed with something & painted black.....
Dirt effect i'm thinking either rough sandpaper before painting or those 'pigment powder' you'll find in those real life model kit's shop... Eitherways, you'll need to be V.E.R.Y skilled with a airbrush, not to mention own 1.... till then, i'm sticking to brushes ;P
U could try looking for Gordonator... but never see him around liao, even around other forums... should go visit his blog for starters....
Haha okay thanks. Maybe i should just stick with the normals :s
I really want to do the red eye thingy tho. looks cool >_<
Any tips of advice if im planning to paint the right side of the face black and stick something red there ?_?
weathering is it? try your luck at modelling forums... i don't do gundams but military vehicles.

Agree... they weather military vehicles/WRC cars models more.... if u want to do those "matte" surfaces you should start there...
