As mentioned during the last game, we managed to get a good deal from the supplier at $6/- per pair. Those interested, please place your order with our manager by next Sunday...

Ok, from the response, I guess not many of you are interested in buying a new pair of uniform socks to go with our current jersey.
Actually, I will like to see all of us wearing the complete set. I think we will look good as a team. In any case, due to the tight budget of our students, I am not pushing for it. As it is, I am already very thankful that we have our own set of jerseys.
Just to keep all of you updated, our very own "Thai" boy, "Pyangpong" Jimmy had done some sourcing in Thailand for our 2nd set of jerseys. So far, there are already 2 choices:
1) Addidas set - about Sin $15-$18 - material not very comfortable but it's original, just that it's made in Thailand.
2) FBT set - Thailand soccer team's sponsor - about Sin $12 - material more comfortable than Addidas - also original
Jerseys are all in solid colors and the pricing is only for top and shorts - NOT including socks (but I think we can purchase the socks from them also). Jimmy's recommendation is FBT
, for a simple fact that the material of the jersey is better and more comfortable.
Another thing I want to bring up is the safekeeping of our soccer balls. Apparently, after last week's game at Marina South, we lost our relatively new umbro ball
. I believe that the ball was stolen somehow. I hope all of us can play a part in paying attention to the team's equipments. If any of you see our equipments or soccer balls lying around, please do your part in safekeeping it.
I have also not collected the money for our new Champion's League ball and pump from the working adults (except Robin Yap). It's $13/- each. Those who have to pay me are; Derrick, Jimmy, Patrick, Charles, Russell, Damien, Lawrence and Alfred. Pls give me the money when we meet up. Ang, sori for the delay.

For jersys... i tink a motivating factor for a team is the jersy as well. Cos its sth we put on. So i tink we muz be proud of it. Hence other than comfort... i hope we can have a nice looking jersy as well. ( like the 1 we are wearing now.... *call me vain all u wan guys.

juz a little reminder only.... i dun tink we will mind too much of the price..... hor?!? -

As the match finished quite late on Sunday, I decided not to bring this up. We can discuss this after the coming match....

Sighhh......juz discarded my second (similar) pair of Umbro socks .......case concluded....the socks sucks.........looking forward to our second set of jerseys

Well, based on the feedback yesterday, everybody's keen to get a new set of jerseys. As mentioned, we will, if possible, be getting a full set to replace our current socks and shorts, but we will continue using our current red top.
All other suggestions on team equipping matters are most welcomed here. -
I'm glad that all were receptive in purchasing our second set. Hopefully, I can show you guys some proposals ofn our second set by this weekend. Cheers.

Boys, both me and Russ have gone down to Queensway to check out our 2nd set of jerseys last week.
We have identified one set. According to the shop, it's a new "design" and stock that is coming in next week. As it's a new design, they have all the sizes that we need.
Description:
a) Umbro
b) White color top with Navy blue trimmings at the edges and corners (design looks exactly like our red top, however without the 1 strip in front of our jersey. They call it the "New England" jersey.)
c) Navy blue shorts
d) Navy blue socks (with a bit of red design) - different and excellent material compared to our current pair. Looks similar to the one Bara is wearing but I think the material is slightly better. The socks is expensive, going at about $10 -$11 a pair.
Complete set is priced at $38/- (higher cos' of the socks). We are pushing for $35/- or $36/-. Should be able to get at our price. Bought our first set from them. They will be throwing in a good ball - Lotto Ball which Juventus purportedly uses
, priced at about $50/-. May also throw in Captain's band as well. Not bad.
We have not seen the sample but the shop will contact me when the stocks and sample comes in next week. Both me and Russ will view them and hopefully we can show all of you something. But I think we will look good. If nothing goes wrong, we should be able to don the new jersey soon.
In any case, I believe Russ is going to emphasis this......the new jersey is going to be our Away jersey. We will still wear our red top for our games unless color clashes.
However, I think we can consider wearing it for the first game when we get the jerseys to "season" it. It's up to the manager and the rest of you. I am excited, are you?? -
Guys, in case you are not already aware, Robin has already placed the orders for the new kit. As he has already made the payment for the team upfront, I believe he will be making the necessary arrangements with each of you to collect the money.
While we have decided to keep the red top as our primary jersey, we will use the white one from time to time (As it is white, my suggestion is see weather and venue... ). Thus please remember to bring both tops for every match. Never thought it possible, but looks like we're gonna look better than we already do... -
Guys, will be collecting our new set of jerseys next week (5 Aug) and we can don them for the game on 10 Aug 2003. Russ will decide on that. Cheers.

For the benefit of those who were not present last Sunday, there has been some changes to the new kit. The supplier has run out of stock for the blue socks, as such we will be switching to red socks (Robin has assured us that it looks good ). The cost will be $40 per set, thus please bring this amount to pay Robin this coming Sunday. For those who are not able to make it this Sunday, please contact Robin directly to make payment.

Just to reiterate what I said after the last match, we will start wearing our new shorts and socks from now onwards, but stick with our original red tops. However, please bring along your white top for all matches as well. Any decision to wear the new top will be made on matchday itself. Looking good guys...
