not really understand the situation u r facing. But... do remember to be firm with matters regarding money. Make clear where the money is used before u lend him. (if there is a next time)
Sometimes, u have to be firm. Or else, tat person will start thinking that he can always borrow $$ from u when he is broke. As a friend, I really dun hope to see u in such situation.
