well, no clear subject in the thread so i ranted
but i wonder what happened.. these things in grammar were drummed into me in primary school by the English teachers.. my cohort speak and use pretty good English and their grammar is correct... what happened to those later?Originally posted by thhong22:hehehe... like taking english lesson here -

i speak a lot of singlish... however, the singlish still has good grammar..
things like:

They GOES
..to WENT
sound terrible.. and are dead wrong... we learnt these in Primary school and i keep seeing them in papers written by Graduates!
