Using Wii mod set to surf net

  Hi Seniors, I have just bought a wii mod set and also the network card. While I was attempting to connect to wii channel shop, the system prompt that I need to perform an update before I could proceed to visit the will channel shop which is the only way to get the internet explorer and proceed with further net surfing.

  Please advice if I should proceed with the update? Will this affect the mod and prevent me from playing non-original games.

  I am totally lose and having the wii mod set and the network card but not being able to proceed with net surfing. Thanks in advance for any kind advice.

  Hi, what is the version number of the firmware installed on your wii (go to the settings page and check the top right, mine is 3.2) there had been cases where updating might 'brick' a modded wii Free Internet Ch (requires installation of wads): http://youtube.com/watch?v=Sr0w2xUkyjU sites such as http://wiibrew.org might help
