I recently purchased a PS2 game (Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection) from GameShop.com.sg to play on my 60GB NTSC-J PS3 which is fully backward compatible. However when I tried the game it cannot be played. Therefore I emailed them.
I soon realised that this game is coded NTSC-U/C when it is written on the website as only NTSC. I asked for a refund but they refused but they claimed that NTSC itself stands for NTSC-U/C and I made a mistake in purchase. They also said that I did not asked about the full region code when I ordered the product. They also claimed that since I used a PS3 instead of a PS2 to play the game therefore they are not responsible for the problem. They continued to refuse a refund.
Tell me your opinion. :)
two words: caveat emptor
let the buyer be beware =)
Hmm... it's very stupid of TS to assume that NTSC stands for NTSC/J and not NTSC/UC... So, it's TS's fault. Close the thread please.
100% your fault.
I don't see how it is their fault in anyway AT ALL.
They might exchange if the game is still sealed but if the game has already been opened, I doubt they will exchange.
