Cyber Gaming Festival 2009

For the 3rd consecutive year, the NUS Students’ Computing Club will be hosting the Cyber Gaming Festival, on the 27th and 28th of June 2009, at Game Haven @ SAFRA. Rather than focusing on traditional gamers, the festival will take on a different approach this year; by expanding the festival to include activities and games for casual and non-gamers. The theme for this year’s festival, “Seriously fun”, promises to uncover the fun and joy in cyber-gaming, where competitions are not just about winning, but also the fostering of new partnerships and developing strong interests in the gaming field.
This event is part of SHINE youth festival supported by the National Youth Council and the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports.

Feel the thrill and adrenaline rush as the participants get into action and compete for the top prize. The 4 games chosen this year are the popular Warcraft 3 custom game, Defense of the Ancients (DotA), Blackshot(tertiary students only) and Left 4 Dead on the PC, also Guitar Hero World Tour on the Wii console.

Learn the Whats and Hows to Cyber Wellness and WIN GREAT PRIZES!
Keep your eyes wide and ears open! There will be 4 sessions of cyber wellness contests to test you on your observation, knowledge and speed. Get a chance to take away attractive prizes if you get the answers right. =)

Registration Fees
- DotA: $50 for a team of 5 (open category)
- Left 4 Dead: $40 for a team of 4 (open category) - players under 16 requires parental consent. (Will be given a copy of consent form)
- Guitar Heroes World Tour - $8 per player, 1 vs. 1 (Open category)
- Blackshot – 5 vs. 5, FREE and open for all Tertiary Students ONLY. This includes all ITEs, junior colleges, polytechnics, and university students.
