The problem with Duel Masters is that the English version stopped coming out when the US company found it not profitable enough in their country.
Hence, when they stop printing it, shipment into our country also stopped, and thus the drop in popularity. The Japanese version is still played by quite a no. of youngsters nowadays, albeit much lesser than before.
For now, I will say that yugioh is still the most popular card game around, with monopoly being the most popular board game.
