As more and more people are enjoying themselves in the world of on-line games, it's just hard to ignore another important benefit this media brings us. When everything is global, a specific culture or tradition of a certain nation becomes unique and fresh. And once this cultural element is added into game, it turns into an attraction, even addiction.
The western culture is still dominant worldwide in the game industry with their high tech and well arranged game storyline, as well as the amazing visual effects, but it’s not difficult to notice that the trans-Asian cultural flows become more and more capturing recent years. Especially the Chinese... I could name some of the examples: chinese food. chinese kongfu like shadowboxing, the old-fashion dress like cheong-sam, acupuncture...quite Chines flavor.... I bet everybody still remember "KONGFU PANDA"... LOL....
Recently I've been into this new MMORPG game released by the TQ company, named The Warlords. It's now still in beta. Compared to other mmo, I preferred the atmosphere this game has produced. The characters' dress, the city, the music...everything is so so CHINA... um... pretty orientally elegant... I choose this game because I am playing Conquer (another game of TQ). It's not just a mmo game, it's a global community where you make friends and learn many many thing beyond games. And now, I am pretty much looking forward to the open beta of The Warlords.(now the game is in Closed Beta)
This game was adapted from the movie called “The Warlords", in which the story is set on the late Qing Dynasty, one of the darkest periods of Chinese history. Natural disasters and Taiping Rebellion were overrunning the country, plunging the large part of the kingdom into the chaos and the bloody civil war. Jet Li, Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiho star in this film.
During the wartime, brotherhood is everything. And this is made the soul of this game. So in game, three players can be sworn brothers or sisters. After that, they will share Kung Fu and their enemy list. When encountering emergency, brothers or sisters can instantly come and rescue each other. Besides, there is another innovative quest system called the Entourage System which allows the players to build their private army. Isn't that exciting~ LOL
