just a quick question regarding PlayStation 2 (yes, 2 and not 3).
does PS2 have a hard disk drive built inside it? or is it like PS1, whereby it relies on an external memory card to save games?
i know PS3, xBox and xBox 360 have large hard disks built inside them, but PS2?
i'm buying a PS2 and the guy says he's not sure if got hard disk drive inside, only that he got 4 MB memory card to save games onto (btw, 4 MB is very small!!!)
thanks!
nikar
google is your friend
oh ya...slim cannot fit in an internal hdd
thanks all, but the more i google, the most i'm confused leh!
all along i never use PS2, only xBox and xBox 360.
if you guys have PS2 before pls advise.
btw, if slim P2 cannot hit HDD, then they rely on external memory card to save games?
if that's the case, then 4 MB memory card is enough to save only 1 - 2 games? or more?
thanks.
PS2 should be 8 mb...can save loads of games...lol..
oh ya..just read some posts....slim can but i think need to mod and stuff

Save your money and buy a better computer and use the PCSX2 instead.
Or buy a PSP?
thanks, but PSP is bad lah. the screen is too small lah....i only play on big screens. X-D
Yes, every console had a small hdd inbuilt for the operating system to run the function it is supposed to. For consoles, only xbox360 and ps3 got the extra inbuilt HDD for you to save game/install game files/movies/mp3/etc...
So, if you still can't figure out the answer... Please Highlight the blank portion below...
PS2 where got HDD for you to save game else why they sell ps2 memory card for?
psp games are actually almost the same as ps2
thanks a lot caleb! btw, 4 MB memory card can save how many games? 10? 20?
the standard is 8mb...
now you can output your psp to your tv...
Depends on the game. The memory required is usually stated on the game cover itself.

You can buy component cables for PSP to connect them to your big screen.
I think they are called component cables.

Ya. PSP after 2k all only support component but not AV or other cable.

You can connect your computer HDMI video card to output to the HDMI port in your big screen tv 50"+++ Plasma/LCD.
And render the PCSX2 in 1920x1080 resolution.
Not even your PS2 can project your game in that resolution and display it onto your big screen tv.
Big enough for you I hope.

The graphical qualities of the game wont be of any big difference would it...since its original resolution is lower, wouldn't it mean that the picture would be rather stretched?
for ps2, the memory cards are enough for your games...trust me!

If you're using PCSX2 and rendering the PS2 game in 1920x1080 resolution, then you will get sharp 1920x1080 PS2 game graphics on your tv.
It won't be stretched cos it is rendered in that resolution. It will only be stretched if you tried to connect and output normal PS2 machine to your Full HD tv.
I know cos I went and tried it already. I'm using my tv as my monitor, cos I can tell you the PS2 game looks as sharp as a PS3 game if you are running it on PCSX2 and rendering it in 1920x1080 resolution.

ooo...
controls le? got adapter ah? or use keyboard and mouse
one more question:
if a PS2 is modded, then generally, it can't play original games, only pirated?
i remember my PSOne last time after modded, can only play modded games and not original.
however, for xBox, even after modded, it can play both modded and original games depending on how you start it up.
so, for PS2, what is it like?
and one more thing: are PS2 consoles and games region-locked, as in xBox 360's case? meaning if i buy PS2 from the USA, i can't play the games here in SG and vice versa?
if mod already then just buy pirated games and play lor. i dont think pirated ps2 games have any region thingy. i just buy and play. from batam to thailand, all also works. btw err now still got people sell/buy ps2????
still got! but i'm trying to buy at the lowest price possible.
some people like me buy PS2 is that we want to play certain PS2 games mah.
of course PS3 and PSP can also play PS2 games, but expensive.
the problem with the mod or un-modded thing is that nowadays, pirated games very hard to find (non-existent in Singapore). so if i buy a modded PS2 and can't find the pirated games i want, then for fark?! :-D
