Purpose of thread: For those who've heard what a awesome and popular rpg final fantasy 10 is but do not own a ps2, or those whose ps2 has spoilt, or those whose coms are good enough to run ffx faster than on ps2, or those (like me) who bought ffx USA when it came out and now wish to play the international/jap version with dark aeons and different sphere grid.
1. download pcsx2 0.9.5; ps2 emulator from http://www.soft82.com/download/windows/pcsx2/
Great link, it comes with all graphics/sound/cdrom/controller plugins in the correct folders, plus bios too. Scroll down and read all the instructions.
2. Burn a ps2 disc or download game image (.iso) from http://thepiratebay.org/search/ffx%20international/0/99/0
This link is final fantasy 10 international version with Jap voices and Eng subtitles, rare! fully clean and seeded torrent. you also need to get www.utorrent.com first.
3. Open pcsx2, 1. go configurations; set keyboard controls. 2. configure graphics GSdx9 (sse2 with Direct 3D9 and pixel shader 3.0 if your com has it), and nloop hack. 3. at cdvdrom find your ffx .iso location. 4. for bios choose the USA one. 5. at cpu choose multi threaded mode if you have dual or quad core processor. run cd! alt+enter for full screen. few screenshots below:
123 fps (204%) , the clouds and sea :)
71 fps (119%) fires and sunset sky cutscene
100 fps (166%) in underwater battles
91 fps (151%) ship lights cutscene
90 fps (150%) playing blitzball
142 fps (236%) running about here
real playstation 2 speed is 60 fps (100%).
my com specs:
liquid-cooled 2.67GHz Q9400 Intel Core 2 Quad processors
Nvidia GeForce 9800
4GB of 1066MHz DDR 2 memory
1.2TB hard drive (2x 640GB); 2x 150GB WD Raptor 10000 rpm drives
24 inch lcd screen
emulator + OS : pcsx2 0.9.5 on Vista home premium 64 bit with v-sync off.
Note: these games in my com run at full speed to double the speed of my original ffx on playstation 2. But if your com has lower specs (older graphics card/<2GB ram/single core processor) your FF10 will likely run at 35~ fps instead of 100~ or 3 times slower. 75%~ of the world would get 25-50 fps actually. Also if you are using XP you only need half the ram that vista needs.
*emulators are always legal. Getting the game .iso is legal if you owned the original game disc. having scph10000.bin etc bios is legal if you owned a original playstation.
any problems or questions or want to know how fast your com will be able to run ff10 post here with your pc specs.
welcome - have fun ;^)

Isn't posting of emulator link in a forum illegal??
Wonder whether the moderator will do anything..

ah i like to rush through asap, work so busy got little time for games! and i like THE WITCHER more! an awesome RA rpg. i should start a thread on it with screenshots
Waaahhh power.... thanks for sharing! I'm gonna try FF12 also.
PCSX2 is still a beta, with latest stable release 0.94 and Beta release 0.95.377. Some games cannot be played, while some cannot reach the ending. I have the emulator but cannot run The Legend of Spyro.
For full compatibility, check this list:
http://www.pcsx2.net/compat.php?c=key
I recommend you to set the emulator to a 100% limit, or games may become unplayable.
Frame skipping, incorrect frame rendering and stuff.
My com Specs:
2.4GHZ Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield
2GB of DDR-2 PC6400 RAM,
500GB HD
nVidia GeForce 9500 512 MB
I set the limit, so everything becomes like a PS2 Speed.
For best experience, use a DualShock 2 PC Gamepad.
Erm... why the psx zip file only 2 files nia... and can't start one...
