Wait a min! Sv 147 also needs to cater students who study in places like hougang Ave 8, etc to S'goon. Also, the demand is still there, esp peak hours, whereby the passenger load is always 100%!!!Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 103 may not need superbuses as I predict that SBST may want to shortened it to Serangoon interchange or even withdraw it.
Service 147 currently can meet the demand between NE corridor and Chinatown.
No choice. We can't do anything about it. Many residents along the NE corridor are making noises about the inconvenience caused by the service amendments.Originally posted by thhong22:wah lao.... i always take 502 one leh..... go orchard took 20mins like tat..... now don have liao... jialat....

All final decisions are made by PTC. All we can do now is to pray that they may reinstate some popular services and not forcing people of these services to take NEL so as to earn more profits. That is plain daylight robbery.

With our SM indirectly declaring support for the price hikes, the reinstating will most like not happen, as like in the past.Originally posted by off_service:No choice. We can't do anything about it. Actually the PTC is a closed cartel, and public outcry would never force them to re-instate services, as they would cite the variety of reasons that are "painstakingly" explained in the Social Studies text Sec 4, on "good Governance".Originally posted by off_service:No choice. Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Yes the 850 case was really a very big upset. Lucky I didnt need to commute to Orchard often. Otherwise I would have taken 171 which was run by SBS than to take MRT or to take any TIBS services. Nevermind the 90 minutes ride, at least SBS could earn my fare.

Even before the PTC, this similar thing had happened, so I am not very surprised at the route change, instead, I expected it.
When the MRT line was extended to Yishun , somebody went to withdraw a number of service, including service 850. Service 850, admittedly, duplictaes service 851 and the MRT in many sectors, like svc 97 and 111 and 147 and 103 for the NEL, but many residents living along the route do depend a lot on service 850 as it si convenient. The fact is further reinforced by the load on svc 851 today. There was a petition and outcry by the Yishun residents, but some idiot refused to budge, citing the usual services. We have to accept the change and switch to the MRT, but for people like me with a monthly pass, the MRT is rather ex, and we hence lost a direct link to Newton and Orchard that is convenient. Instead, we have to transfer buses in the Thomson area, but it can be quite troublesome. [/b]

Did I say something wrong about service 147?Originally posted by SBS9816E:Wait a min! Sv 147 also needs to cater students who study in places like hougang Ave 8, etc to S'goon. Also, the demand is still there, esp peak hours, whereby the passenger load is always 100%!!!
Sv 103 is needed to provide a link for Jln Kayu and Yio Chu Kang towards the city. Without it, Sv 103 would eventually lose its purpose of travelling along yio Chu Kang and Jln Kayu.
