Service Amendments W.E.F 27 July 2003 due to NEL

Following services will be withdrawn:
85, Express 501, 511 and 512
Route Amendments:
Sbs 81, 97, 111, Express 502 and Tibs 106
Scheme B services will be affected.
638 and 650 withdrawn
634 will be amended -
Services 85, 501, 511 and 512 will be withdrawn.
Express 502 to operate between Boon Lay and Suntec City
Service 81 to operate between Tampines and Serangoon
Service 97 to operate between Jurong East and Suntec City
Service 106 to operate between Bt Batok and Suntec City
Service 111 to operate between Ghim Moh and Suntec City -

I may propose to SBST to extend service 36 to HarbourFront via service 85 route from Orchard MRT station onwards.
Where will services 81, 97, 106 and 111 amended to?
What are the routes of services 634 and 650? -
I am absolutely LIVID with SBST and LTA arrangement . Now i cant take bus 81 from Little India back to home .. I am going to complain to SBST about it . (Dont piss me off " you know who and your stupid comments ) .

In the begining, it's service 107 and 133, followed by services 700A, 857, 70X, 162X, Express 501... -
Where do you live? If you are living in Tampines, you can still take services 23 or 65 from Little India. This is insane. Why are there so many services terminating(or looping at) Suntec City? Looks like a lot of services will disappear from Hougang, Sv. 511 and Sv. 512 will be amended, while Sv. 97 and Sv. 111 will have a different terminating point. Look out for the demise of Tridents on Sv. 111 as it will be entirely controlled by BBDEP/ARBP from now on. -
That was the main reason why they built the MRT line in the first place. Thanks for your comments and its highly APPRECIATED but I am not as rich as you and also ... if this happens to your service you will be in my shoes . MRT ? Forget it , How many times do i have to tell you ? Let me make myself clear , I hate taking mrts especially peak hours Full Stop .

The MRT has top priority over bus services. So, when there's duplication, bus services have to be sacrified.
Currently, there's still services 82, 103 and 147 duplicating most parts of the NEL, let hope that SBST and PTC will not do anything bad to the 3 services. -

Will there be a phase 3 of rationalising of services?
Phase 1 - improve bus connections to the NEL stations
Phase 2 bus service changes will involve nine bus services which either parallel or duplicate the NEL for a large part of their routes -
I believe in phase 3 of service rationalization, other services that does not duplicate NEL (but those duplicating small parts of the NEL) will be affected. Only services amended in the first phase to bring passengers to NEL stations will not be touched in phase 3.
Even services like 82 and 133 will be affected I believe. -

I am happy to see that service 147 is left out of phase 2, it is now an alternative to the NEL between near Dhoby Ghaut station and Serangoon station.
Yes, like what off service has mentioned, there will definately be a phase 3.
I think for the phase 3 rationalisation, it will involve services that duplicate a short stretch of the NEL. -
I tell you,this is the most stupid amendment by the LTA!

All the posters regarding the 2nd rationalization of bus routes along NEL had been put up.
Kinda sucky ain't it??
