Automatic kneeling/rear door sensor that similiar to SBST specs doesn’t mean all the buses exclusively to SBST.Citaro also got automatic kneeling system upon stopping/Door opening/closing mah..Yes probably for MK IV DM3500 & B10BLE but again who knows other operators like SMRT is interested.
But again you’re probably correct as many thing now favours SBST.
Seletar & Bt Merah Packages,MAN A95,MAN A24,Volvo B8L..seems many things go their way now.

The reason why SBST's specifications are inside LTA's tender specification is due to LTA being absolutely clueless about specifications. Don't forget that LTA's BCM is very new, they have been riding on SBST and SMRT tender, buying buses in a form of option/extension under SBST/SMRT's tender buy. So the easiest way for the lazy civil servants to come out with a tender specification is to copy and paste SBST/SMRT tender spec blindly, then add in or edit what additional stuff LTA wants.
In fact SMRT's specifications can also be found inside the tender spec. Only a few of the new stuff which I mentioned are original from LTA.
This will be a standard for future public buses. All operators will receive buses with the same specifications.
But I can tell you that SMRT does not favour automatic kneeling. They prefer manual kneel, which means the driver has the option and control when to kneel. If you take before SMRT procured buses, they never kneel at all, the drivers hardly use this, some even disable or hide the function from the drivers. Which is why LTA tender specs also asked for an option to switch between automatic and manual kneel.
LTA wants to satisfy everyone, at a cost which commuters will bear.

Nice explanation Mr A95..At least somebody understand better.Copy and paste from SBST & SMRT hahaha yes..But again there’s handful of senior bus fans working for LTA also.
The euro 6 A22s looks shorter and smaller without the lion hair on its rooftop on the euro 5 ones. But I suppose the interior settings are SMRT specs as usual.

Yes PIS and hopefully MASAT sliding door
Any idea on how many units of Euro VI A22s ordered and when they'll enter service?
Originally posted by sgbuses:Standardization? So how did Singapore's A95s end up with at least three bodywork variations?
Don't start talking about evolution or improvement. The bodywork variations (and other units produced for other operators) show this is mainly an aesthetic change.
There will be a demand for bodywork spares because accidents happen over time. GML can produce the spare parts now suited to the variation for now. But if GML doesn't exist tomorrow or stop producing older parts, it's going to be a nightmare for fleet management.
If you think that bodywork manufacturers will last forever, Custom Bus has just collapsed. Cities who have been relying on Custom for new buses suddenly have a parts problem and are forced to buy small new batches from other suppliers because they don't know what to do next.
And already we have someone asking for the fourth bodywork design because it significantly deviates from the one just released in Germany.
At least the Citaro and the B9TL orders from SBS Transit has consistent designs.
The bus lobbyists have been arguing for a standardized design when they want more of something. Then against a standardized design when they don't like what they see or start to get bored of it.
Or whatever rocks their boat. Or fits their arguments. Trump style.
And least of all, the lobbyists have been attempting to get LTA to distribute all the models/variants across operators. And then rail against operators who resist accepting a handful of units.
I thought LTA has finally cleaned up the act. Only to allow another mess again.
And LTA and KBW starts wondering why bus operations are 60% more costly now and how on Earth they are going to pass on the increased costs.

Apparently Custom Bus was sold to the Nottingham-based Dunn Group.
Choa Chu Kang Temporary Bus Interchange will be completed in last quarter 2018, whereas the second Jurong East Temporary Bus Interchange will be completed on 25 August 2019.

With that, we can expect Choa Chu Kang Temporary Bus Interchange to open during the December school holidays in 2018, and the second Jurong East Temporary Bus Interchange to open during the December school holidays in 2019.

That's great news to hear! Also im guessing Yishun Int to be ready by Q2 next year? I mean currently the new Northpoint City shops are mostly ready already, and they have a good one year plus to get the bus int ready.... shld be more than enough time

probably in March 2019 during the school holiday.
Things to expect from July to September
July - Commencement of electric bus trial at NTU (source)
August & September - Quiet period. Announcement of Land Transport Master Plan 2018 (renewed once every 5 years) and Jurong Region Line stations and alignments expected.
Things to expect from October to December
October - Implementation of Bukit Merah bus package (source)(previously, SBS Transit was given 7 months to prepare Seletar depot for the BCM contract; August 2017-March 2018. Considering Ulu Pandan depot was handed over to them in March 2018, we can expect Bukit Merah bus package to commence in October 2018)(reference)
November/December - Commencement of on-demand bus trial (source)(frequency would have to be reduced to accommodate the on-demand bus trial. considering the significant change in standard, the trial will definitely commence during the December school holidays to allow passengers to adjust)
December - Adjustment of public transport fares (source)(ridership figures would be collated in Q3, which I assume end-September is a comfortable deadline for them. I expect them to already know how to adjust the transport fares, so an announcement is likely in October, with implementation in December.)(previous fare adjustments were announced 2-3 months in advance)(reference)
December - Permanent closure of Ten Mile Junction Station on the Bukit Panjang LRT Line. (source)(based on the previous closure of Ten Mile Junction in December 2010, the upcoming one would probably also be in December)
December - Opening of Choa Chu Kang Temporary Bus Interchange (considering the project will be completed in last quarter 2018, plus 2 months of testing and commissioning, the probable opening date would be in December. That’s assuming the project is completed in October. Am expecting end-December opening for Choa Chu Kang Temporary Bus Interchange)

BN based BC for svc 5,16 already been notified about the offer to Ulu Pandan.
The same goes to AM/BR based svc like 57,131,145,400 & 402.
Also rumour that all BRBP svc will moved to AMDEP when Bt Merah package implemented and the question is can AMDEP tank in all the BR svc?
Ah yes now i remember whats missing from SG1131L's post on upcoming transport outlook.
It is none other than the Seletar Airport! Back then CAAS and CAG announced the new Seletar airport terminal to be located the east side of the airport to house the only turboprop operator in SG from Changi Airport–Firefly–by end-2018
Currently, there are empty bus stops to the right when 117 and 103 turns from picadilly to selatar aerospace dr. Pretty sure they are reserved for the 102 extension which could be done in tandem to the opening of the new terminal

I think we need to wait for the time when Mandai is operational. The former SMB AMDEP can become an extension of SBST AMDEP. Also, some AMK routes under SEDEP now, so some space is freed.

If all move from BRBP to AMDEP, meaning BRBP will be decommissioned?
Yishun bus interchange to open next year 2019? It's too long. I suspect it will be done by around Q3 this year with opening at Q4. I got to peak inside the interchange ( illegal of course ) and saw almost 98% done. The only thing not done is painting of lines & bus & berth numbers allocation. I wish it could open by this year end

What was told to the public is 2019. But guess what? SMRT is infamously slow for their things. Not gonna be surprised if it were to only be opened in Q4 2019; and also if not all buses frm the current int will facilitate the new int
Sorry to those who supports SMRT, but i kinda lost faith in them.

So SMRT owns the Interchange ah?

Shld be ahh.... i rmb SMRT is still the main operator for yishun right?
Originally posted by JKYY:If all move from BRBP to AMDEP, meaning BRBP will be decommissioned?
Like what Iveco said,Probably wait till SMRT AMDEP SVC transfer to Mandai Depot and LTA will probably remove the fence and build a connection to the Depot. With some refurbishment,SBST AMDEP can get around 600 capacity but again the condition of the road surface at SBST AMDEP is very terrible.
My suggestion is to make BRBP a fully bus depot with 500 capacity and transfer all CDG operations to AMDEP is more better or simply find a remote location along Upp Thomson for a new Depot.

LTA owns all the infrastructures and also buses and trains.Operators only manage and maintain and fares are retained by LTA la dey,Operators only earn through a yearly fee,EWT/First and Last bus,On Time Arrival incentives..Also advertisement and rental of tenants at their respective Int and Ter.There will be incentive too for keeping the buses clean.
SMRT is the anchor operator at Yishun although they’re the minority.
btw, yesterday I thought I heard over the radio that the Jurong Region Line is cancelled. It was proposed to be elevated, 20km. but now the authorities are looking at replacing the proposed Jurong Region Line with other new lines, for more economic effectiveness (济效益). research works already carried out for parts of the line will be re-used. And plans will be announced in the later part of this year when the LTMP 2018 is announced.
that’s what I thought I heard over the radio yesterday, but when I looked at the internet, I couldn’t find anything about it. so most probably I’m imagining things.
