Learning free bridging bus routes
Originally posted by Waynechew1003:but srsly do they need so many buses?
969
PM peak 1/4 of it are running empty sometims
AM peak only towards tampines got crowd
but AM to yishun/woodlands quite moderate
but 969A for AM should cancel since it is always running with 10 - 15 pax
LTA instructions mah.969 really need to cut 2 full day buses.
Directional signages had been put up on lamp posts along the routes that the bridging services for mrt closure will ply.. it states "SHUTTLE 1" and so on...
BUS OBSERVATIONS
SG5081X bus captain caught having a toilet break at Newton Stn Exit B while on revenue service (Service 518). The entrance door was left open.
I understand that the bus captain needs a toilet break as it is a long routed service to drive but it poses as a risk of someone being able to drive the bus away, putting the bus commuters at risk.
SBS7598Y on 197 has pretty violent front doors, can hear the "thud" when closing even on the upper deck.
So I was one of the many people getting to ride on SMB1444G on my usual home svc, so there was a WAB who is obviously entitled to board first. Then bcos many people were angry with this (I am neutral), they go start saying like this "Eh use ur brain ah! I board first also I dont disturb mah. I pay 3 dollars for fare...bla bla bla" just basically about the WAB always boarding first. This just happened on SG5700T (67) too
Whats wrong with just waiting for a few seconds for WAB to board first really. Not like they take ur seats also ==

i think its pretty normal but then there is nth the bus drivier can do if he rlly need a toliet break as he can't ask all the passengers to alight and board again
518 has one more toliet break at bayfornt MRT

Wheelchair people are piriority boarding ma. Singaporean ma, little bit must complain
518 also has another break at TP twds PSR

I dont think so. 518 just make their sheduled bus stop and carry on since there is no nearby toliet as the nearest one is 5 - 10 mins away

Should cut 3 SD and change the freq
SG5792C spotted with no SMRT logos in wpdep...
also 5822a with damaged rear
Shuttle 4 start and end trip from Ulu Pandan Depot according to one of the timecard (JCCKPM56)... is there a need to go back ULDEP every trip?
there was no shuttle 1 and 4 at JE for at least half an hour yesterday. queues for shuttle 4 streched all the way to jem mcdonalds there..

wow.. anw putting shuttle 1 inside JE int is a really stupid idea. the int was already congested with existing services, and the buses flowing in was very slow that it caused a long queue. boarding from outside the int would have been faster. they should have done boarding from the bus stop opp ntuc before the int. 97 197 and other buses also hogged the berth for their loading , no choice.
SG2017C has a decorated interior as well
16/12/17
BUS OBSERVATIONS
SG5605K was observed to have a faulty sensor on the staircase (kept beeping throughout the journey even though no one was standing on it).
I observed service 189 for two days previously during my off days
Weekdays fleet is 14 buses,9 full day and 5 split buses.
Full day is 8 SD & 1 DD while 4 DD & 1 SD for split shift...There will be another full day DD replacing SD during certain times also.
