Are you willing to subsidize every passenger's bus journey by 10 cents? If not, please stop screwing around with the operators' cost base.

For SBST, I dun see a need to intake many new DDs at the moment, since there are only 3 VO3X (and probably HGDEP's 20 Tridents) to clear off. What SBST need is 50 single decks to replace the DM3500.
Net replacement for all operators combined is neutral. Just think of every DM3500 replacement to SMRT's B9TL and every bendy replacement to SBST's A95.

Haha. There is a motive one. . Why on earth will LTA go store 15 b9 n register new A95 for GA/TT. Waste of money.

Sooner or later fare would increase..If that’s the case why Hg/Bn takes the A95 where they can just take the balance B9TL?GAS also got excess DDs.

It's either all mix or no mix.
The current situation is worst, where u only got some mix
When u all mix at least all ops are ready to deal w diff models. When u have only some mix the other ops lose out!

Even Transperth distributes different bus models equally between operators. However, some depots have only one type, eg Gosnells only has CNG Merc OC500LEs, North Fremantle only O405NHs.
GAG in Singapore only sticks to Citaro and B9TL. What if they win the tender for CCK or WDL package? They will need to take over some SMB-spec MANs.
I still have a feeling SMRT will get a small numbers of A95 with B9TL..
Beside service 19,I hope Bedok service like 14 & 30 will get A95..
Amdep service and what about Express service like 502 or 506?

If 14 got A95 it is time to celebrate. Clementi got some of the most boring fleets. The only nice buses in CLE ITH are the KUBs. If SBS send any A95s to BBDEP i hope 147 and 166 are first to receive them.

So 14, 147 and 166 will still get them, albeit as cameos?

Don’t know,Depend how the deployment is..Since HG/BN already got A95 there is possibilities...Sometimes its not about cameos but many SBST BCs give good feedbacks about the A95..

@sgbuses this is a rather fair point imo. The idea here is that if you are going to introduce some mixing (SBST taking small number of A95 for example), by economies of scale it only makes sense to mix a bit more at least until the optimal level is reached. There is seriously no point to having a small minority fleet lying around.

What kind of Good feedback does SBST driver give?
A95 is smooth running, powerful and less noisy compared to the rest plus presentable outlooks especially the facelift batch 3 ones. This is what SBS drivers give such rave reviews I guess.
SG5836K SG5837H SG5838E & SG5839C
All SBS Transit.
SG5834R
To SMRT KJDEP
why are A95s on 800?

smoother, faster, more powerful than B9TL

doubt the SBST A95s can cameo around at least for now, EDS only programmed for the routes they are supposed to run
Wakakaka

Because it is fit for DD service, i guess.
Off topic, this evening i noticed that both sections of the Volgren B8RLEA seems to be equally long. Maybe can negotiate the curves in CGA basement?

Why would you say they are fit for 800? 800 high loading comes only in first two stops along Yishun Ring Road, where you also have svc 804. After that bus usually has lesser than 20 pax as it serves as mere intra-town service.
800/804 still have bendy running..sometimes don't even have DD. But seriously, seeing those photos taken, the upper deck is always rather empty tho
DD for Yishun feeder, really?
Still Yishun residents got used to bendies. 800, 804 and even 806 are best examples. Even 807 deserves bendies by taking the slots of DDs like citaros and A22s too.
