From 29 June 2017, a prototype stroller restraint system will be tested on SBS Transit Service 69, to secure open strollers on the bus. In addition to holding on to their strollers throughout the journey, parents and caregivers are encouraged to use the restraint system on the bus.
2. As there is currently no standard restraint system for open strollers in the market, LTA worked with several Institutes of Higher Learning[1] in the study. The prototype was developed by the School of Design in the Temasek Polytechnic, and subsequently customised and fabricated by ST Kinetics for implementation.
3. Service 69 has been chosen for the trial because it plies along housing estates and schools in the Bedok and Tampines areas, serving mainly families and residents going towards Tampines Bus Interchange and MRT station.
4. As parents and caregivers are responsible for their children’s safety throughout the journey, they are reminded to also abide by LTA’s guidelines when travelling with open strollers on buses.
5. LTA will consult the relevant stakeholders, including parents and caregivers with open strollers and bus captains, for their feedback on the system. Commuters are also welcome to provide their feedback at https://www.lta.gov.sg/feedback/. Feedback from users will allow LTA to further refine the system.

This is a good initiative. But, I thought some existing buses already have this? SMRT buses have seat belts for wheelchair users, which can be used for strollers.
Maybe they are considering rolling out this feature across the entire bus fleet, that's why they are testing the feature, although it's already available in the market.

Waste of time and money,Because of all this passengers also bring 46inch TV,Bulky items onboard buses even during peak hours..Later other pax also KPKB..There is always protocol but the authority doesnt care.😤

They trial on SBS8232X better lah. Got 2 lots inside somemore. This one only 1 lot where both wheelchair and stroller use how can tahan one?

Raise basic pay but introduce all nonsense stuff..Some pax would not hesitate to put their bulky items on the empty seats also..Later got problem who solve?BC again,We got more than enough problems already leh..

Some drivers very nice 1...one time I board SMB304J on 859, this driver saw a couple with their small stroller. Immediately he opened the ramp and welcomed them in. The couple of cos very shocked...

I have a feeling that bus services standards and traveling time will get worse if they allow all kinds of things to be on board the bus.

True,Already got cases where pax with stroller argue with BC that its compulsory BC to open rear door and ramp even though the stroller is small in size.So much for convenience.
