I hope LTA not bearing the same thoughts as you. Make a walk there and you shall know why the need for more frequent busservices between Commonwealth MRT and Holland Avenue.
Anyway come March Bus 61 shall ply between Commonwealth vMRT and Holland Avenue, and that will fill the gap.
One spending his time providing feedback shall not deem as complaint king. . A local definitely knows better than one simply looking into his map at his desk.
Originally posted by dupdup77:Hi mr marvel68, most people who live in holland avenue will alight at commonwealth mrt and switch to smrt 970 which is direct. 2 stops later, they will reach Blk 10 bus stop. If take mrt to buona vista mrt, they still have to walk a long passageway to change to holland village mrt then walk again to the neighbouring blocks. Who in right sense of mind will choose the 2nd method which is more indirect?
Moreover, the demographic population in holland avenue/drive is more of elderly. Please do not expect people living there to walk to mrt often. I quote my mother as a living example. She has leg pains. She always takes mrt to commonwealth to switch to 32/145 to get to Blk 46 bus stop along holland drive. Fastest way is to alight at buona vista mrt and walk back. If you have been to buona vista mrt before, you will know the road path to the blocks st holland drive is not so conducive. There is also flight of steps and a busy road. It poses quite a challenge to elderly. Trust me, many elderly living there have the same thoughts. Cheers. Thanks.
Coming March, your mum will be glad to have another bus service bus 61 plying between Commonwealth MRT and Holland Avenue .
Anyone have the photo of the affected Road Closure (Tanglin Halt Rd) signboard?

Hmm a new service for Commonwealth Dr?

What is the reason for closure? Is it due to the construction work going on?

Nah... Not a new service. Bus 61 definitely have to travel from Holland Ave to Commonwealth MRT due to closure of Tanglin Halt Close in March.... The return trip from Commonwealth Drive to Holland Avenue should still remain the same.

From Gebiz, they could be linking up the Commonwealth Ave and North Buona Vista Drive.

Well, it kinda becomes pointless. Might as well straighten out 61 and make 122 loop at Tanglin Halt.

I seriously hope they'll make 122 loop there to cover for 61. Or make a double loop at both sides of Commonwealth MRT (both 61 and 195 part).
Margaret Dr - Queensway - Commonwealth MRT (westbound) - Commonwealth Dr (61) - Queensway (northbound) - Commonwealth Dr (195) - Commonwealth MRT (eastbound) - Margaret Dr
Update:
The construction of the second Jurong East Temporary Bus Interchange has began. Looking at the construction of Choa Chu Kang Temporary Bus Interchange, the facility would probably be ready at the end of the year at earliest.
HGDEP is expending or chopping off some part?

Kampong Bahru Terminal should have a feeder bus service example 272 serving the HDB esate nearby 272 can loop at that Kampong Bahru Terminal.
and maybe have a few eatery shops setup in the terminal.

The terminal has this ulu feel, completely deserted, much like Tamp Concourse int and CBP terminal... maybe because there aren't much developments around that area aside from a few old HDB flats. I'm not sure if feeders will work because there's already 120/121/124 from Kampong Bahru to Telok Blangah/Tiong Bahru estates...
Bus 61 is making u turn at the Commonwealth Ave/ Queensway junction... Not along Commonwealth Ave.

Isn't it just across the road from the old site?

the Kampong Bahru terminal is ulu but the bus services at the terminal can provide useful for the people living nearby like Telok Blanhag crsent and rise where 272 feeder bus service is going around. maybe LTA should relook into one of the 12X service see whether can do any improvement over the service together with 272. the services could provide a faster link to the city and east compare to bukit merah interchange. example people taking to the terminal can transfer to 190 or 12 to city area faster than the one on bukit merah interchange.
